Shared 22 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a thick, creamy dark chocolatey head. Aroma is roasted malt and strong bourbon. Taste is roasted malt malt, bourbon, chocolate, caramel, oak and vanilla. Finish is boozy and malty. Very good, but maybe just a little too much bourbon. Might have been better if aged longer.

Aroma:bourbon, vanilla with underlying maltiness; Appearance: pitch black with tan head that dissipates to nothing; Taste: huge flavor that follows the nose; delicious and complex; Palate: heavy mouthfeel with long, sweet finish; Overall: quite excellent, although not my favorite imperial ever; would definitely buy again.

Beware the 12%!

Bottle. This beer has great nose. Aroma of vanilla wafers and booze. Pours near black with creme colored head at the glass. It's got flavors of cherry and vanilla. A bit thin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pours black with a moderate Brown head. The bourbon really comes out in the aroma. Chocolate, marzipan, bisquit and light tobacco notes. The warmth of the bourbon hits you right away. Sweet, chocolate, marzipan and a light earthiness. The alcohol is present and complimenting. Full bodied. Oily, sticky texture. Bitter bold finish. Fantastic. Honestly one of the best beers I have ever had.
