A slightly different version of the Imp Biscotti Break I am now accustomed to, the chili flavor comes through much more than the hazelnut but isn’t overwhelming. Bottles at Festival 2013.

Dark brown color with a dark head. Big hazelnut roasty aroma. Coffee roastiness nose also. Smells fantastic. Coffee bitterness with a ton of nutty hazelnut. Really good. Creamy and great feel.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, sweet chocolate notes and light hazelnut liquor is quite enticing. Taste is a nice mix between some roasted malt with sweet black chocolate notes, some hazelnut liquor, some residual sugar notes with some medium hot chili notes that are more noticeable in the aftertaste. Body is smooth with nice creamy texture and medium carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. Very nice balance between the different flavours. Wish I could have this more often.

22 oz bomber shared with ebone1988. Surprised that this is an imperial porter. The pour is a viscous and oily black with a thin collar of dark khaki ring of head and no lace around. The aroma is beautiful. Lots of chocolate and a nice roasted malt presence. There is a ton of hazelnut and a creamy vanilla behind that. There isn't much coffee as the label states, but the chilis come through nicely and lightly on the back end. The flavor is disappointingly thin. The chocolate is very reserved and the chili is as well. It's malty and thick. But the flavors fall invisible. The mouth feel is thick and velvety with an excellent soft carbonation and a lingeringly malty chocolatey aftertaste. I wish this one had more distinct and dominating flavors. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared with koleminer20, awesome. Aroma is hazelnuts, chilis, coffee, roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate, booze, wowzers. Appearance is black, brown head, thick. Taste is very light. Roasted malt comes through, light chocolate, light pepper, light coffee. Mouthfeel is thick, creamy, great carbonation, nice. Overall, very very disappointing because the smell set me up for something wonderful.

Bomber from an IP BA trade at Sour’d. Poured a great looking viscous pitch black body under a smaller spotty tight foamy mocha head, wish the head was bigger to make this a 5. Aroma is rather subdued for a big ass 11% Impy flavored stout. Notes of sweet chocolate, slightlt cloying, soy, cola, wet burnt toast. Flavor is sweet sugary chocolate, dark burnt wet toast, chilies on the finish. The hazelnuts are lost in this one, especially in the aroma, maybe a hint in the flavor.

Bomber courtesy of Hackobock. Pours viscous pitch black with a creamy dark mocha head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and tiny fruity with roasted malts, burnt caramel, toffee, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, hazelnut paste, dried cherries, smoked chilli, moist soil and hints of alcohol. Taste is malty and earthy. Mouthfeel is soft, round, astringent, tiny boozy and near full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, burnt caramel, burnt wood, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, moist soil, smoked chilli and alcohol. Rather harsh and astringent. Hazelnuts are barley detectable but the chilli is balanced in its addition. Good but the base and bourbon BA is better.

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate and light coffee notes, light pepper spiciness, hints of caramel/sweetness, and some dough. Flavor a great blend of everything with the stout and pepper on the finish working really well together. Thicker texture. A solid beer.

Bottle shared during RBWG Tampa. Deep oily brown pour with a tan head. Lovely nose full of roasted nuts and coffee. Chocolate spread, nutella. Taste reminds me of Kinder Beuno. Nougat and chocolate, hazelnut. Some roasted coffee acidity. Thick and luxurious. Fat. Decadent stuff.

Black pour from 22oz bottle at ganeks. Not too spicy. Big bold stout. Tons of flavor. White head. Hazelnut dominated. Very good

Bottle: Thanks, Jason. Oily black pour, not much head. Barely a tan ring. Aroma of milk chocolate, toasted nuts (though not *specifically* hazelnuts), mild roast, coffee, & some milky sweetness, a little brown sugar. Not much chili on the nose. Flavor shows a touch of peppery spice, though, but it’s pretty restrained & meshes nicely. Bitter chocolate, roasted malt, charred nuts, & some mild coffee beans. Just a small touch of balancing creamy sweetness underneath. Really nice, but I prefer the regular.
