4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A slightly different version of the Imp Biscotti Break I am now accustomed to, the chili flavor comes through much more than the hazelnut but isn’t overwhelming.
Bottles at Festival 2013.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Growler... This beer rocks!… Pours nearly black with no head. The bouquet is an opulent swirl of dark brownies, toasted pistachios, almonds, cinnamon and vanilla. Full-bodied and velvety with only a remnant of carbonation. The flavor offers a delicious medley of hazelnuts, bittersweet espresso, brownie brittle and vanilla. Luxuriant, chewy, hearty finish. Major props to landhoney for popping the top on this world class brew!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This one poured an inky black color with a beige head. Aroma was of roasted malts, some dark chocolate, and light hazlenut. Falvor was similar, hazlenut is not there much, rpetty ashy, and the chile heat hits barely in the swallow.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Shared thanks to beerman6686. Pours a dark brown black without much head. Aromas of chocolate and roast. Really as good as the original but I am only getting a tad bit of the hazelnut and no chili heat at all.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. The pour is a very dark brown. The aroma has a hint of heat to it, and sweetness. The taste is almost a perfect blend of heat and sweetness. Great balance.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
(very similar to the ordinary version)Tap at CBC Clerkenwell, Pours brown, deep dark brown almost black, off cream thin head. Nose of biscuits, some fruits, and chocolate. Chocolate cake on the palate, big dark fruits, cherry, prunes, figs and dates. Added licorice and very subtle chilli. This grew on me the more i drank of it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg at CBC Clerkenwell. Black, big tan head lasts a minute or so. Smell is apple and liquorice, maybe some background hazelnut. Body is medium to big, slightly foamy, carbonation is low. Taste is heavy liquorice, molasses, slight coffee…...and more sweet liquorice and molasses. It almost tastes oxidised. Drinking a half of this took me ages - it was just too syrupy sweet and liquorice heavy for me. On a positive note, the chili built up really nicely and gave me something to enjoy. Overall, though, this didn’t float my boat.

Tap at Craft. Black with tan head. Aroma of roasty chocolate with a bit of pepper, little licorice. Similar flavour, lovely blend of licorice and chocolate with roast. Thick and sweet with a bitter finish (like my boabie). Delish

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Keg at the Evil Twin MTB event at CBC Clerkenwell. It pours a deep dark brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is big dark chocolate notes, very subtle chilli, while the hazelnut are there and play nicely with the bold sweet notes. Taste is light roastinees and big chocolate and hazelnut sweetness, quite bold, with chocolate truffles and nutella. Body is creamy with a good carbonation. Overall, this is exquisite and quite better than the regular IBB.
