Inky black pour with a thin, creamy brown head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, toast, roasted nuts, caramel, lots of char and smoky old campfire, just a hint of sweet berries. Flavor is sweet chocolate up front, lots of char, some sweet cherries, coffee, dark caramel, light piney hops and a slightly stronger hint of cherries to the finish. Honestly if the description didn’t mention cherries, I may not have picked them up. Heavy body, creamy to chewy feel and medium strength slightly sharp carbonation. Really good overall, but they didn’t do the base beer any favors with the cherries or whatever they did. I will admit as the beer warms the cherries come out a little more and add a little more positively to the beer, but still not enough to redeem it compared to the base beer.

Draft at thirsty monk. Pours black with a thick khaki head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Pretty big cherries on the nose. The cherries do tend to overpower the rest of the flavor elements on the tongue especially the almond and the malt. It hides the alcohol real well which makes this one kind of dangerous.

Tap @ thirsty monk - pours pitch with a tan head, some lacing lingering on the glass. I let this one warm up a bit, so the tart cherries really pop, followed by the dark chocolate, coffee, and almonds from the biscotti side of things. Fantastic!

Decadent like Imperial Bisc. Break but with an added complexity, oth fruity sweet and tart, from the cherries. Abounds in vanilla, chocolate, and almond as well. 4.3-4.4. World class.

On draught at Imperial Bottle Shop & Taproom. Pitch black color. Aroma is bourbon-soaked cherries, dark chocolate, and roasted malt. Taste is cocoa nibs, bourbon, cherry, lactose, and roasted, slightly smokey malts. Smooth mouthfeel and finish that disguises the alcohol really well.

Au nez, on sent le chocolat, la cerise et les réglisses Twizzlers! En bouche, c'est sucré, un beau grain, le café et une pointe de vieillie. La finale est soyeuse, sucrée et très balancée. Du génie! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours pitch black with a tiny head. Aroma of roasty malts, licorice, coffee, berries, hints of cherries and sweet syrup. Taste is sweet, roasty and heavy with notes of licorice, berries and sweet syrup. Finish is sweet, sticky and heavy with some syrupy notes, hints of licorice, cherries and tartness. Quite heavy and complex.

Aroma of cherries, cocoa, urinal cake. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, tart cherries. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness, mild booze.

The final drink on a long and terrible political night. Definite fruit working here with the cherry. Both in the aroma and flavors. Light roasty malt. Well balanced and smooth. A little lighter than what I was expecting but pretty on par with a good porter. Finish is a little bitter sweet, milk chocolate as well.
