Inky black pour with a thin, creamy brown head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, toast, roasted nuts, caramel, lots of char and smoky old campfire, just a hint of sweet berries. Flavor is sweet chocolate up front, lots of char, some sweet cherries, coffee, dark caramel, light piney hops and a slightly stronger hint of cherries to the finish. Honestly if the description didn’t mention cherries, I may not have picked them up. Heavy body, creamy to chewy feel and medium strength slightly sharp carbonation. Really good overall, but they didn’t do the base beer any favors with the cherries or whatever they did. I will admit as the beer warms the cherries come out a little more and add a little more positively to the beer, but still not enough to redeem it compared to the base beer.

On tap at Mikkeller & Friends, march 26th 2016. Black body with a dark brown head. Aroma of roasted cocoa, tar, vanilla, alcohol. Taste is sweet, fudgy, coffee, with a fruity cherry note adding a soft layer of sourness without taking away the "biscotti break-ness". A nice version of a great beer.

Bottle. Pours midnight black with a thin creme colored head that resides only along the glass rim. Raspberry sweet aroma over mild carbonation. You taste the cherries over dark chocolate. A shade bit thin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
