COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

Black pour with thick brown head. Flavours and aroma of sweet molasses cookies, brown sugar. Nice alcohol warmth that lingers with some rich coffee notes. So great.

It may appear that I have a bias for this beer, but it surely is grounded in the beer. Pours an opaque ruby black with a quickly diminishing brown head. Aroma is caramel, coffee, hazelnut and alcohol. Taste is sweet caramel and molasses, as well as vanilla and creme brûlée. May be the best beer I’ve ever drank.

Yet ANOTHER awesomely decadent big dark brew from evil twin. This one has equal parts coffee and roasted black and chocolate malts in the aroma and flavor, with a bitter backbone, and a good dose of chocolate, vanilla, and almonds in there as well. It’s like a really good imperial stout with amaretto, dipped in espresso. Huge body, heavy, but not sticky, cloying, or overly sweet. Absolutely delicious!"

Serving: Bottle from State Line Liquors. Rather nice to be able to compare this side by side with it’s barrel aged brother. It pours about the same with an almost black color and a thin tan head. The nose is noticeably different. No bourbon here, just plenty of roasted malt, coffee, light chocolate, and a mocha like sweetness. The flavor is a nice balance of the roasted malt and sweeted coffee and a hint of something on the end I can’t quite place. Like blackberry but not. Full bodied and robust with a long finish. Really nice beer.
