COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

Tasted from draft. Pours black with beige head. Aroma is cocoa, coffee, caramel. Taste is very smooth and clings to the palate. Flavors or chocolate, coffee, toffee, caramel, vanilla, cookies. Moderately sweet with mild bitterness. Overall an incredible imperial Porter but not up to Funky Buddhas wide awake. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle. Pours black with a bubbly dark brown head. The smell is coffee, vanilla, and caramel. It tastes like a caramel vanilla mocha latte. I mean coffee, vanilla, cocoa, caramel, and some citrusy hops mix around without one dominating. Really nice smooth silky texture for an Imperial. Creamy feel with a little hop quality. Excellent beer.

Backlog, bottle. Close to black, two finger tan head, dissipating quickly with no lacings. Velvet aroma of cookies, almond, vanilla, roasted notes, slight coffee. Taste follows, roasted malt, coffee, almond, vanilla, slight port wine oxidation in the back, smooth, soft bitter finish. Big body, low to medium carbo, sticky, oily texture.

Bottle. Thick pitch black with very dense nice-settling dark brown mocca one finger head. Aroma has loads of cookiness. Rich dark chocolate, french press coffee, coffee beans, vanilla, fudge, more chocolate. Some slight port wine, oxidation. Almost cherrie like fruitiness. Dark malts and roast in there as well. Taste is quite sweet, brown burnt sugar, molasses. But then it hits you with lots of roast. Stil has the port like cherries. Rich chocolate, vanilla. Slight almond. Finish is really roasty malts and coffee. Really well hidden alcohol with some slight warming port heat. Went well with biscottis!
