4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle, shared with a group of friends at Grippitis’ Christmas party. Hearty, viscous near black pour. Sweet chocolatey aroma, hazelnuts, coffee. Rich flavours of the same, dense, velvety. This is a massively rich treat, and as a dessert beer it succeeds beautifully. Immensely satisfying.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A very nice and strong imperial stout. This one is sweet though. The mouthfeel is sticky, and not all that pleasantly so. Aroma is coffee and a bit of booze and is nice. Pours jet black as it should. The rest, well, somewhat of a let-down but still obviously drinkable.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22oz bottle: pour is like crude. Pitch black and oil. Dark brown head. Amazing aroma of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, raisin, and hints of hazelnuts. Sweet milk chocolate and burnt caramel flavors up front transitioning to mocha, dark chocolate and coffee. Hints of sweet smokey vanilla. Thick, smooth creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well hidden.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours black with thick head. Aromas is vanilla, coffee. Taste is heavy on the vanilla, the coffee fades to a background note. Nicely balanced sweetness (marzipan?) in a heavy stout. Can’t wait to try the BA version.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
650 ml bottle. Pours a dense black color with a small brown head that soon recedes to a fine film. The aroma is medium in strength with mocha, dark chocolates and blackened grains. The taste is a big blast of dark bitter chocolate, chocolate liqueur, mocha, vanilla, light anise, biscuit and bitter walnuts. The palate is thick and viscous with soft carbonation. Finishes long and bitter-sweet. Overall: First rate RIS-- I loved it.
