On tap. From notes.
A: Chalky black, thick mocha heads, and leggy.
N: Malted milk, chocolate, and cocoa. Vanilla, caramel, touch of coffee.
T: So much chocolate here and some evening elements, but this is very sweet, albeit not cloying.
M: Thick, treacly, sticky.
O: Really good I’d had this before, but it wasn’t nearly as enjoyable. Would buy a bottle.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Black pour with a light tan head. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. Flavor is similar, really nice balance between them too. Sweet, but not too sweet, and delicious. Abv is completely hidden as well. Very tasty.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rcvd in a trade, best before 2015; into a tulip, appearance is a pitch black colored body with a tan slim half finger of a head that ends up concaving into the body after a good minute; the smell has strong bourbon bourbon notes up front, light vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans; the taste is sweet through the bourbon notes, dark chocolate and then gets slightly balanced with the roasted coffee bean flavoring; coffee beans make
a stronger presence in the aftertaste than the bourbon does; dry roasty finish; not that easy on the palate - this bad boy is more a sipper; carbonation is actually fairly smooth and is pretty good for the style and for me; overall I say this is a pretty good Double Stout that I would have again, not sure if I like this as much as everybody else, but I will say its solid

Palate: creamy smooth, luscious. Great beer I enjoyed watching the blizzard and playoff football on a Sunday afternoon.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Cugino’s. It poured a thick black color with a tan head. The aroma was of roastiness, coffee and vanilla beans. The taste was of syrup and lots of vanilla in the backbone. It was heavy on the palate with lingering chocolate sweetness. Very nice.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22oz bottle. It pours deep black with a medium beige head. Roast, dark coffee nose with light hops and a final booze kick.. Roasty, herb-spice malt. Dry espresso, almond-nuttiness, yeasty. Really nicely put together. Chocolate mousse, or tiramisu. Bold and quite unique.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Fresh batch-bottle. Pours deep thick black with espresso crema ring. Nose is coffee, dark malts, milk chocolate, light soy and molasses, booze became overwhelming on the nose as it warmed. Full bodied. Stewed figs, coffee, vanilla, light nuts, with hot, burning finish. Bit overrated, but would like to try again, maybe on draft and colder.
