4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle purchased at Binnys Marcy... Pours a mostly solid black with auburn hues towards the edges with a very thin light beige head... Aroma of burnt toast, roast and tootsie roll chocolate, touches of cookie. Smooth and different... Flavors are more of the same with a semi-sweet focus with all the aforementioned aromas which come into play with more of an intensity. Semi-thick and smooth with adequate carbonation. Execute nicely.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours viscous black, dark tan head that quickly dissipates in the middle and lasts for a couple of minutes on the edges. Nose is coffee, vanilla, and cookie. As it warms the sweet fresh baked cookie becomes more pronounced. The taste is roasted malts, coffee, bakery cookie. Rich bitter finish. Thick syrupy mouthfeel.

Tap at Parlor City. Perfectly black with a light tan head. Malty milk chocolate nose with some syrup and a hint of plums. Coffee notes also some through with hints of vanilla. This tastes like smooth coffee with some notes of boozy amaretto. A big warming boozy body. There is also some black bread type notes and an almond finish. A big sipper, but well done.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught. Pours a near black color with very little head on it. Nose is just a tad sweet and has some nice roasting in there. Taste is much the same, though the roasting comes through more. Feels very smooth and creamy on the palate. Nice one...

P: Black with a nice dark brown head that doesnt last long. S: Dark chocolate, roast, artificial vanilla, white sugar, and almonds the smell overall is very sweet making me think this was gonna be a sweet mess. T: Dark roast coffee (with the bitterness and acidy being in a low level which makes the coffee shine through) some vanilla, almonds, and finishes with a heavy roast. M: Creamy and silky, just simply a great mouthfeel. O: Finally my local store got this, this did not dissapoint the smell was sweet but the taste was just great coffee, with a nice amount of sweet, great beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black, inky, color with coffee like head that dissipates quickly. Smells initially like booze, then coffee, almonds, dark toasted malts, vanilla, and burnt sugar, with hints of amaretto. Flavor is alcohol, then dark fruits, more alcohol, vanilla, almond, and some bitterness! This beer was WAY too sweet for my liking!!

Bottle at the ChrisO Snow Tasting, London - huge thanks to Bruce for pulling out one of my biggest wants. Pours oily black with a creamy, beige head. Big, bitter dark chocolate aroma. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with dark chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, dark and well toasted bread, mellow earthy bitterness. Full bodied with fine carbonation, lightly chewy. Moderately warming on the finish with rich, sweet chocolate character, cake, low bitterness. Great balance. Delicious.
