COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

Draft at Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton. Snifter. Pours a very very dark brown-black with brown sugar colored head. Head disappeared quickly but a nice ring stayed prominent. The lacing was quite nice as well. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla and cookies. Taste is basically the same. Lots and lits of chocolate. Period. Mouth is creamy and smooth with a slight bitter coffee or dark chocolate finish. So damn good.

Bomber @ 55° into snifter; black body with brown to amber ring of highlights, overdown cookie colored head, very smooth cool whip structure falls quickly to a thick ring, minimal polka dot lacing; chocolate pie, espresso, caramel, vanilla, black grapes, flavor follows with grassy lemony citrus hops coming in late, and resonating with big espresso notes on a mmh silky body; I dig it, but I’m getting a disjointed experience between the mid tones of crust, caramel, and milk chocolate, and the deeper, harshly bitter espresso and hops, not enough complimenting, too much contrasting, but still enjoyable

Powerful, chocolate stout flavor. Almost too sweet once you get through more than a glass.

Choclatey! Damn.... Great beer! Perfect for after a meal, dark and heavy chocolate taste. Will definitely have again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is totally pitch black with a tan brown head. Lots of dark fruit on the nose, raisins and plums, chocolate, good bit of coffee, roasted malt, caramel is prevalent. Taste is quite unique, the dark fruit (cherry and plum) and the chocolate come together quite prominently up front, there’s a milky caramel taste as well, a roasted coffee taste and some roasted malt. Full mouthfeel, low carbonation. Fantastic assortment of flavors, they meld together quite well.

Bottle. Aroma of roasted chocolate and booze. Vanilla, molasses, sexiness. Dark brown/nearly black, tan head. No lacing. Taste: smooth and sweet. Milk chocolate, licorice, molasses. Roasty finish that's keeps the underlying sweetness from being too much. Almost like rootbeer. Alcohol remarkably well-masked. Silky slick viscous texture. Soft carb, full rich body. Overall: a nice dessert treat. Definitely a dessert. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black and thick. Small brown head. A little bit of lacing. Dissipates to swirls of film after a minute. Aroma is big on chocolate. Lots of caramel sweetness and a fruity dose of coffee. Pretty light on the roast but it’s there in the background. Very nice sweet, chocolatey stout smell. Mild herbal hop note. The taste adds a bunch more coffee flavor. Big chocolate and caramel sweetness again. It’s like a dark chocolate milkshake with a shot of espresso and drizzled with caramel. Mouthfeel is thick, smooth and very full. Works very well with the top flavors. Excellent beer.

Bottle, 04/03/2013. Pours black with a medium, dense dark tan head, dies down to the surface after a minute or two, thin ring of lacing around the glass. Aroma is cherry vanilla, candied almond and chocolate chips, nutty coffee finish. Taste is milk chocolate, rich almond character with bitter roast coffee finish, touch of booze. Actually quite balanced, avoids being too sweet. Smooth, creamy palate, drinks too easy. Wow.

On tap at City Beer. Aroma of medium roast and chocolate. Somewhat biscotti-ish in flavor, but bigger coffee, nutty, and chocolate notes. Very good balance of carbonation and smooth palate...nice finish. Excellent beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
