COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2013 Draught @ Bishop Folkis. Pours a pitch black with a Brown head. Compact, roasted aroma, loads of coffee and vanilla, chocolate, licorice, bisquits, almonds. Off-dry, full bodied, high bitterness, creamy CO2. Rich, complex, compact taste, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, tobacco, coffee, caramel. A monster, but a very balanced and enjoyable one. Small brown shortlasting head. Aroma is espresso, dark sugar, chili, cocoa, caramel, grass, licorice. Taste is slightly rich and sweet, dark malts, sour coffee, dark sugar, chili, grass, caramel, cocoa, oak, citrus peel. Medium bitterness, dry mouthfeel, a nice warming chili touch. Nice one!

I think I prefer the Ballast Point, but this is still a delicious beer. Pours deep, dark brown with a tan head that leans toward brown. Scent is chocolate with small hints of coffee. Flavor is sweet with slight tinge of bitterness. Palate was a touch thin and left me feeling like there was a bit of dust in my mouth. Draft - Brick Store Pub - Decatur, GA

650ml bottle pours black in color with a finger and a half of light brown head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass and a nice thin film on the surface. Aroma is dominated by chocolate with hints of coffee and roasted grains. Taste is a bold chocolate malt sweetness with an underlying coffee and roasted grain bitterness which is quite subtle. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium body with light carbonation. Smooth easy drinking imperial stout that is enjoyable and recommended.

An Imperial/Strong Porter from Evil Twin Brewing brewed by Westbrook Brewing Company. A dark brown, black porter with a brown, two fingers high, head with fine bubbles that drops down to a 3mm quilt. Almost no lacing on the glass. Nose: WOW! Amazing sweet notes of chocolate, vanilla, cookie, brownie, whipped cream, cocoa, sweet licorice, coffee, almonds and roasted malt. Taste: Of course, as the name requires: Biscotti, soft - great complex, smooth taste! Almonds, milk chocolate, espresso, ice cream, milk chocolate, hazelnut and cocoa. Body: Full body with almost no carbonation. Soft & smooth - Fantastic!

Black with a brown head. Pretty standard roasty aroma with notes of caramel and coffee, but then followed by an insanely balanced, nutty and chocolaty smooth flavor assault that will instantly put a smile on your face. Combine that with an ultra smooth, slick and sexy body and you better believe that a bomber will go down dangerously easy.

Great imperial porter! Really chicolately aroma almost coffee like. The taste is chocolatelty and hints of coffee. A little toasty background. Sligthly sweet but I like it!

* 22 oz. Bomber* Look: Midnight black with a 1 finger deep mocha head. It looks like used diesel motor oil. Smell: Chocolate/ cocoa nibs, sweet molasses, burnt grains fused with coffee. Taste: Chocolate, roasted sweet malts, burnt coffee bitterness, cookie dough, espresso, vanilla/ chocolate as finishes. Feel: Medium body, mild soft carbonation. Overall: This reminds me of the Caravel Ice Cream Cake blended with my morning cup of espresso. Very smooth to the point its almost ridiculous. 11.5 that is not detectable. Drinkable beyond belief for such a big beer. Sweet and bitter. I’m sure it isn’t the best Imperial Stout brewed today, but it is pretty close. Recommended.

2014-08-30. Black body small frothy tan head despite vigorous pour. Aroma is interesting, dry roasty espresso or coffee. Light chocolate notes, sweet dark malt base is mild. lavour starts with cocoa notes, fairly bitter and moderately alcoholic. Lingering roast with something odd to it. Lightly burnt character? Smooth medium bodied palate, modest soft carbonation. Just okay, flavours don’t quite come together for me. It was admittedly the last beer of the evening but I found it kind of hard to drink. Bottle from Premier Gourmet.

Draft at Torst. Pours near black with a thin beige head. Big rich fudge brownies, roasted malts, and dark chocolate, with lingering nutty and roasted malty notes. Big and delicious.
