COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

Finally got my hands on a bottle of this. Pours out pretty much black with a decent tan head. Aroma is of lots of chocolate, dark roast coffee, light sweetness and a touch of alcohol. Taste is complex, lots of darker roast coffee, creamy smooth mouthful, nice dark chocolate, roast, some syrupy notes, vanilla. This is dangerous as the abv is well hidden.

Bomber. Black coffee pour topped with sudsy brown foam. Strong notes of Kahlúa, vanilla bean and dark chocolate fudge along with some roasted malt, dark fruits and toffee. Taste starts with a heavy dose of bittersweet chocolate syrup, espresso and vanilla with a bit of black cherry and charred malt toward the end. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and slightly syrupy with low carbonation and more coffee liqueur and chocolate malt in the finish. Overall, a solid Imperial Chocolate Stout although there’s no trace of biscotti to be found.

Pours a very dark brown with a rather fizzy mocha foam colored head. Chocolate, vanilla, sorghum, and robustly roasted malt aromas. Thick and a little flat. Chocolate, vanilla, sorghum, some coffee, but a lot of cherry in the flavors.

Danish pint. Dark dark brown to black with a mocha head. Nose involves lots of chocolate, very fudgy or brownie-like, with some impressively sharp hopping underneath, with notes of resin and citrus. Very sweet, also pretty bitter. Not as heavy as you might think, creamy, soft, slick, almost numbing with alcohol on the end. Cool to try, definitely a sipper and built for sharing. Taking down a 22 of this would, though certainly not impossible due to the drinkability, would still give you diabeetus.

A great beer on bottle. Dark chocolate all the way. A bit of chili at the end.

Bottle @ SMÖF2015: Aroma is dense from chocolate, almond and nuts, vanilla and figs/raisins. Taste is truly awesome and brings a lot of roasted nuts and malts. Smooth toffee, vanilla and wood. Aftertaste brings a slight red berry or vineous touch. Brandy maybe? Awesome brew!

[Bottle (650ml)] Pours a very dark brown with an average size semi-lasting frothy light-brown head. Lovely aroma of bread, vanilla, nuts, roasted malt, alcohol, hops, chocolate and more. Malty and chocolaty flavour along with brown sugar, light hops, vanilla and some alcohol. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. I quite liked this.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2016 Toasty roasted malts and dark chocolate with sweet raisin bread aromas. Taste is the same as smell: biscotti, dark chocolate, raisin & dark fruit, some toasted coconut & booze in the finish.
