COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

Tap @ Tröls. Dark and sweet with loads of dark chocolate, syrup and raisins. Salty food takes it to the next level.

Rating #1009 - February 28, 2014 - #beerguychrisgeekbeer for #week9 - $17.29 CAD for a 650mL bottle from Coop. Aroma is heavy roast malt, lots of coffee, chocolate. Taste is mild bitterness, medium-heavy alcohol character. Really cool porter, which easily stands up with some of the bigger Imperial Stouts. Has a cool bready chocolate character developed throughout. Phenomenal.

Can’t really say that anything is missing. The aroma is marvellous and filled with chocolate, coffee, cherry? And something else. Beautiful colour and head. Well hidden alcohol. Delicious and exclusive and as it is a bomber at 11,5%, it is best shared with a friend.

bomber purchased in Colorado Springs and smuggled into Texas. Aroma - chocolate then a boatload of a bunch of chocolate - very rich then the bitter kind - hats off to others who found more aroma - I was overwhelmed with chocolate. great black pour with dirty brown head. 4 on palate Taste was chocolate then some drying chocolate. notice the theme. some booze on backe end. bottle was less than 1 year old much better than STier Chokolat as it wasn’t overly sweet; still would be better shared or in 12 oz....

This is delicious. Had it down as an imperial stout rather than a porter. It’s pitch black and oily. Very little head on my pour. Quite sweet. One to be sipped after eating. Lots of coffee, chocolate, dried fruit and maybe some almond in the taste. A benchmark.

I’ve passed on this beer a couple times due to its price or availablilty. Shit... now I regret it.. This beer is big time, Peter Gabriel style. Huge nose of roasted malts and chocolate. Super black in color, with a huge khacki head. Tons of burnt roasted malts and coffee. Almost over whelming. Flavor follows the nose. Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate. All in a huge way with out one flavor over powering one. Just a big imperial porter, much like an imperial stout. Body is thick and oily. The twelve percent is hidden well but this is one big winter warmer beer. Sipping this beer on a cold night next to a fire would be ideal. Overall: A++ worth seeking out.

Very nice pour. Very dark with a dark chocolate colored head. As it settles the head becomes lighter in color and creamy. Top layer of creamy head stays around for the whole drink like a puddle of oil. Smells like pure smooth chocolate with a nice background of coffee beans. Big big chocolate taste. Very smooth. Also a roasty black coffee and brown sugar taste. Very good alcohol feel. Really good stuff. The look alone may be the highlight.

This one poured a dark brown with a beige head. Aroma was toroasted malt, dark chocolate, and smokme. Flavor was the same, a little sweet, but fairly dry, smoke, and burnt brown sugar. Good but not great.
