COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2013 Pitch black body, decent sized dark khaki head, solid soapy lacing. Nose is robust with espresso, almonds, chocolate, vanilla, peat, roasted malts, and caramel. Flavor is similar, but lacking the same intensity, clarity, and completeness. Full bodied, smooth, creamy carbonation, roasty, lightly bitter finish. Quite interesting.

22 oz bottle. Pours black with a bubbly dark brown head. The smell is coffee, vanilla, and caramel. It tastes like a caramel vanilla mocha latte. I mean coffee, vanilla, cocoa, caramel, and some citrusy hops mix around without one dominating. Really nice smooth silky texture for an Imperial. Creamy feel with a little hop quality. Excellent beer.

Backlog, bottle. Close to black, two finger tan head, dissipating quickly with no lacings. Velvet aroma of cookies, almond, vanilla, roasted notes, slight coffee. Taste follows, roasted malt, coffee, almond, vanilla, slight port wine oxidation in the back, smooth, soft bitter finish. Big body, low to medium carbo, sticky, oily texture.

22 oz bottle. Tasted on 4/26/15. Bottle from Espo. Amazingly well balanced with chocolate, bourbon notes & very easy to drink. So smooth loved this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Thick pitch black with very dense nice-settling dark brown mocca one finger head. Aroma has loads of cookiness. Rich dark chocolate, french press coffee, coffee beans, vanilla, fudge, more chocolate. Some slight port wine, oxidation. Almost cherrie like fruitiness. Dark malts and roast in there as well. Taste is quite sweet, brown burnt sugar, molasses. But then it hits you with lots of roast. Stil has the port like cherries. Rich chocolate, vanilla. Slight almond. Finish is really roasty malts and coffee. Really well hidden alcohol with some slight warming port heat. Went well with biscottis!

Bottle shared at a tasting at Troubles’ place. Thanks Excellent Little Brother for the delivery. Black witha brown head. Wine-soaked biscotti/ tiramisu-like aroma with lots of chocolate and vanilla. Chocolate and vanilla, a little coffee and bitter taste. Silky texture, full body, rich chocolate and cherry finish.

From tap in Torst, NYC. I think there is no point in describing this beer. It’s almost perfect in any way. Need to try!

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dror’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Black with a beautiful big light brown head. Lovely big aroma with lots of dark chocolate, cocoa, some cookie, a coffee note and liqueur. Sweet and slightly bitter flavor with dark chocolate, cocoa, roast, and a bit of coffee. Full-bodied. Great stuff.

Bought Aug 2014. Pours black with a thin, tan head. Aroma has big, sweet notes of dark and milk chocolate, caramel, sugar, and a touch of coffee. Taste is a bitter sweet. Starts with sweet sugar, caramel, and milk chocolate, slight dark fruits, then moves to deep dark chocolate and a big, long espresso/coffee ending. Medium-full body with a low carbonation. Silky/smooth/syrupy texture with a dry finish. Hard to find the alcohol. Overall a guys beer. Big sweet, roasty notes with coffee, caramel, and chocolate. Yum!

Having this brew at about cellar temp. Appearance is a huge, thick, foamy tan head that slowly subsides, lots of lace, and an opaque black brown color. Aroma is mild - malt, cocoa, toffee, biscuit, yeast, coffee. Flavor’s like nose plus slightly sweet tart up front with bitter coming next and finishing with a dynamic mix of the three. No off characteristics at all. Everything is very smooth and balanced. Later more sweetness comes out. Aesthetics are key here. Beautiful body. I want so much more.
