3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A steady pour into my large Tripel Karmeliet tulip produces a two finger thick, pink / pale-blue tinged, head that leaves some light lacing on the sides of my glass. The beer is a deep, dark, purple / concentrated amber color that shows a mostly clear, deep red / purple stained hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of lightly wooded oak up front, but then a toasted oak character towards the finish. Throughout there is a floral blueberry character and a tart berry character.
Lightly tart up front which plays a soft berry character that is just distinct enough to hint at tart blueberries. This has a nice, prickly carbonation that isn’t overly heavy, but adds some zip to the light body. The finish has a light, woody astringency, as well as a rounded toasted oak character to it that brings out an almost toasted cracker like character. As the beer warms up the berry character, and perhaps the barrel influence, brings out some red wine like flavors towards the finish; this adds some complexity and interest to the flavor, in what would otherwise be a simple beer.
Clean like a Berliner, with a clean tartness and light beer notes. The fruit and the barrel contribute more here than the base beer, but these are light enough that they don’t overwhelm things. This beer is down right quaffable, and quite nice in the end.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle generously given to m by Hopscotch and served in my PW bowl: Pours a coppery pinkish hue with a fading fizzy head. Darker than the other version. The aroma has notes of lactic and acidic vapours, light red grape and blueberry skin, greek yogurt and cheesecake, mineral water. The taste is quite grape-y and moderately tart with a skillfully placed pils and wheat background. A touch of barnyard and cheesy notes are noticed by clearly just a subplot to the brisk acidity. This beer is lively and refreshing but could still stand for a tad more carbonation. Overall I like this a bit more than the Westbrook version but each have there strengths and weakness.

Draft sample. Pours a hazy grapefruit juice color with a small tinted white head. Notes of blueberries, sour mash, wheat, sourdough, lemon, and funk. Light-bodied, with a dry mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Finishes a little watery and mineral-like. Pretty good.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap sample. Poured hazy red orange color with a small frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate sour dark fruit aroma. Light to medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium sour & sweet fruit flavor with a medium Sweet fruit & sour finish of moderate duration. Interesting, still not my style.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle picked up at Premier Gourmet. Pours a cloudy light purple colour, small whitish head, no real lace. Smells sweet, sour, a little raisin, stone fruit. Tastes like sour and tart, a little off almost barnyard like. No blueberry really.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled from a bomber bottle,
this beer had a hazy pink and grape juice colored pour and presented a off-white diminishing light pink and purple head that receded quickly to a ring and partial cover, it left some nice spots and fingers of lacing on the sides of the glass,
when I first popped the bottle it had a weird lactic sour almost like a cheese type of aroma,
it had a sourness and horse blanket on the nose, and there was very little blueberry fruit on the nose,
it had flavors of sour grape, a little blueberry, and there was very little malt,
the finish was dry and had a generous amount of sourness,
the mouth feel was light and was creamy on the lips, dry on the mouth,
it had lively average to carbonation, as this beer warmed up it turned a little watery,
this beer had a light nose and flavor, it did not taste that great, this drink was disappointing.

Bright pink sour. Reminds me of pink lemonade with a bit of wine flavor imparted by the barrels.

Bottle thanks to ygtbsm94: Poured a dark reddish brown with lots of carbonation. Very little head. Smooth light fruit of blueberry aroma. Taste is a acidic berry with woodsy wine hint toward the finish.
