Shall one compare thee to a fair beer, Not even this perfect porter before thou will do thee justice. Thou art more complex, brave and cunning. Thou have changed more than a brew will ever. Thou may be lil’, but thy mind is greater than words can speak and beer will ever taste.

The color of this beer is an opaque black color with a medium tan head, and the aroma blends chocolate, caramel, and roasted malts with a hint of booze. The taste combines a heavy umami, mild sourness, and a touch of sweetness, and the palate consists of a full body, oily texture, long finish, and a flat carbonation.

Pours dark black with tan head. Aroma is Heavy dark roast malt. Pretty heavy body with a smooth velvet texture. Chocolate, Vanilla, Dark fruit, some coffee, alcohol. Maybe a little bitter hops but the malt profile is pretty intense. Very buttermilk syrup in its texture. Good but heavy as hell.

Pitch black pour with a thin khaki head. Nose is rich chocolate, malts, chewy, syrup, and more chocolate. Nice palate, chewy malts, sticky, light alcohol, easy finish.

dark chocolate cover cherries, raisin, molasses, honey. Blackish brown with hint of red in thinnest corners. Intense flavour, sweet, dark chocolate covered black cherries. Average/soft carb, oily, thick, full bodied. Interesting. Complex despite the overwhelming cherry/chocolate.

Pours pitch black with almost no head. Aroma is coffee, vanilla, chocolate, muscovado sugar, roasted hazelnuts, honey, black currant. Taste is vanilla, chocolate, coffee, black currant, honey, roasted malts, some bourbon-y notes as well. Mouthfeel is creamy yet tart at the same time, just perfect. Not bold, not assertive, not screaming out, just quietly whispering. Very good indeed!

Had on tap at Bittercreek Alehouse, next to Even More Jesus. Great. Less roasty, a little sweeter. Delicious.
