3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Whole Foods, Bowery 12oz ($4): Pours black with a wee brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malts, along with some vanilla and milk chocolate. Taste is pretty sweet. There is a wee bit of roasted malt bitterness, but it dissolves into a sweet and creamy aftertaste. Alcohol is superbly well hidden. I admit that I mostly purchased this because this beer has the same name as the worst rapper of all time--Lil B. If you want to hear something truly terrible, tune into some music by the "basedgod." Fortunately, this beer is much better than the rapper, much, much better.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from CBX. Jet black, oily pour with no head. Slight signs of carbonation. Aroma was big and roasty, melted candy bar, lots of vanilla, sweet fruit. Flavors were sweet with light hints of roasted malt and a decent fruity presence. Thick almost fudgy mouthfeel with light carbonation. Very clean all around and rather drinkable given the size. Pretty sure this is the base beer for Imperial Biscotti. Solid.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
A draft pour at the LOCAL BEER BAR in Eureka, CA. Came in the glass a very dark brown that was almost black with a big creamy and dark tan head that left stick lacing rings. Nose is treacle and chocolate. Full body. Creamy smooth mouthfeel with a hint of alcohol. Flavor is a rich chocolate, dark ripe fruit, treacle, and a tiny bit of coffee. The finish has some herbal touches. The alcohol in this is well hidden. Nevertheless this remains a sipper. Quite good.

Checking in on this batch at five months, cellared at ~ 60ļ for the last four months
All the elements of the fresh serving are still present and enjoyable with a heavier focus on the dark chocolate and char as well as a slightly thickened body and red grape notes I donít remember from the first bottle, Iím also getting a slice of chocolate cheesecake to accompany the peach ice cream from the younginí, this is definitely a very nice brew Iíll look forward to at two years

Incredibly quaffable for 11.5%, exceptionally smooth with several layers covering a wide spectrum of characteristics
Black body beneath a 2" mocha head falling to a half ring and sheet with small spots and a few thin islands of lace
Coffee, bitter chocolate, black licorice, leather, tropical and stone fruits, alcohol in the aroma, much cleaner, lighter and aromatic than expected, extremely smooth nose to taste transition with heavier dense licorice and dark fruit flavors, peach and other notes from the aroma playing backup, leather, ice cream as this warms; Palate is beautifully smooth, mmh, silky slightly creamy, with a hoppy, roasty bitter finish to spice things up

On tap at TÝrst with Max, Ramy, GT & Whitney, Andy, Pearl, James, J-Dad, blipp and Ashley. Pours a deep chocolatey brown with a thin to medium sized white to beige head. Big chewy roast with a lot of cereal. Smells like a brew day. Warm and roasty, thick, chewy roast, warm and malty. Big and a touch boozy. Warm and full of cocoa and lots of roasted chewy malt. Lingering alcohol, big and bold. Lovely with a good amount of subtlety.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 ounce bottle. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with a quarter inch tan head that didnít stay around for too long. Not much lacing at all. Aroma is very nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, dark fruit, vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, and a bit of coffee and licorice. The brew tastes mostly sweet, like dark fruit, vanilla, milk chocolate/chocolate syrup, molasses, roasted/charred malt, and some coffee. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, itís smooth and syrupy with low carbonation. I think itís a good brew overall. If you like sweet tasting beers, then you should enjoy this one. $12.49 a bomber.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Black with almost no head. Sweet cherry vinegar chocolate and amber incense aroma and taste with light coffee notes and a strong smokey incense finish. Thick oily palate. One of the more interesting beers Iíve tried lately.
