Bottle from Vinmonopolet’s BU. Pours very dark brown, close to black. Tiny brown head, doesn’t even cover the entire surface. Alcohol, liquorice, wood nose. Very sweet, with balancing bitterness. Dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, wood, coffee, red fruit, plum, liquorice flavour. Full, thich body. Soft carbonation. Good. Maybe a bit overwhelming. Best at room temperature!

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a snifter. Coal black with medium light brown head. Aroma is fudge, medium body, medium carbonation, and good small-bubble lacing. Taste is rich chocolate, dark malt, some herbal hops, and some anise.

Tap @ Beer Temple, sample size. Black color, quite dense brown head, good retention. Aroma’s: roasted, sweet, red fruit, alcoholic. Retronasal it’s alcohol upfront, some acetone/spiritus even, roasted, red fruit, sweet. Flavor is rather sweet, fruity, roasted. Medium bodied. Finishes sweetish and with roast, which leads to a roasted bitter finish.

Pours black color, slightly haze, with creamy light brown stable head. Visually low to medium csrbonation. Aroma: intense dark malts aroma, with notes of coffee, vanilla, port wine, slightly woody, with fruity esters of dark fruits, forest berries, yoghurt etc.. Flavor is rich, creamy: prevails malt flavors, which takes on coffee, dark chocolate, supported with notes of molasses, port wine, cinnamon, fruity esters of hops, which takes on forest berries, dark fruits like prunes, dried fruits, etc. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet, alcohol warmth is evident and takes on port wine, finish is dry, sticky and slightly fruity bitters. Dryness lingers in aftertaste. Body is full, texture is soft, carbonation is low.

Bottle bought in Liberty Wine Merchants. Very rich aroma AND taste: vinous, sweet, dark fruits, plums, raisin, grape, sophisticated notes of alcohol. Superb balanced. Excellent beer.

Flavours of molasse, licorice, chocolate, wood, vanilla, alcohol fusels, dried fruits. Long licorice, woody, vanilla, choclate and warm finish. Long molasse aftertaste with some bitterness. 12oz bottle - pours a thick midnight black with a very thin brown head. Great aroma of molasses, dark chocolate, licorice, black currant and bourbon like booziness. Intense and delicious flavors of roasted/charred grain, dark chocolate, molasses and some anise liqueur.
