Shall one compare thee to a fair beer, Not even this perfect porter before thou will do thee justice. Thou art more complex, brave and cunning. Thou have changed more than a brew will ever. Thou may be lil’, but thy mind is greater than words can speak and beer will ever taste.

Pours an opaque dark black with red tine with thin red/tan head that is small with thin lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and dark fruits. Mildly sweet up front with some booziness to balance it out toward the end. Medium to full bodied, creamy with soft carbonation. Long, bitter/boozy finish. This is a good porter

bottle. Thick black with minimal head. The ABV comes across strong, but there’s plenty of flavor as well. Chocolate and licorice malts, bitter hops. Definite sipper.

Pours an extremely dark brown/black with a very dark brown head. Malty aroma with toasted/caramel notes. Deep, rich flavor with hints of coffee and mild sweetness. Very full body with minimal carbonation. Goes down a little thick, but without being too much so. An absolutely fantastic porter, one of the better beers I’ve had.

Taster at Beer for Geeks. It is an inky black pour and has a deep roasty plum chocolate aroma. Medium bodied, the taste is molasses, maple and chocolate syrup. Not so complex and maybe a bit too sweet but well done.

Pours pitch black. Nice head. Aroma: chocolate, sweet coffee, plums. Taste: raisins, chocolate and tons of coffee, with nice alcoholic warming in the palate. Very nice RIS, pretty sweet but it was not disturbing me.

On tap at WFDP ’2015. Black beer with almost brown head. Complex aromas of chocolate, molasses, dark fruits, dried plums etc. Very sweet, like chocolate liqueur. Smooth, creamy, full bodied beer. Very interesting, although a bit too sweet for me.
