Shall one compare thee to a fair beer, Not even this perfect porter before thou will do thee justice. Thou art more complex, brave and cunning. Thou have changed more than a brew will ever. Thou may be lil’, but thy mind is greater than words can speak and beer will ever taste.

McWorta (578) - LUXEMBOURG - AUG 27, 2014
Pitch black clear colour with a chocolatey coloured rather fast fading head. On the nose aromas of treacle, caramelised dates, bitter chocolate, dark raisin and sweet resin develop. Light mousse and slick texture with sweet treacle flavours with notes of chocolate and coffee bitterness, caramelised figs and dates offer a beautifully harmonic interlude. Full bodied with a long finish lasting well on the whole palate.

12fl oz. Bottle. Btld 02/19/14. Pours black in color, lasting brown head. Brown sugary aroma, coffee, molasses, some burnt wood. Flavor has chocolate, muscovado sugar, roasted malt and cold coffee notes. Finish is long with strong coffee and ashy notes. Alcohol nicely hidden, only some warmthness. Starts quite light actually, but as it gets warmer, gets very oily and heavy. Slow sipper. Quite OK, but doesn’t stick out as I had hoped. Too sweet for me as well.
