Bloody good beer. Not everyoneís cup of tea (well beer, rather) and just one does the trick as itís at a whopping 11.5%!!! A nice complex winter beer with massive flavour, like nothing you would get in a standard porter. Well done you crazy Danish/American bastards!!!

From tap. Looks nice, black with brown head. In aroma coffee, chocolate, roasty, dark bread. Taste mainly coffee and chocolate, with notes of vanilla and sweetness. Full body, smooth. Warming notes of quality alcohol. Good beer for long evenings of winter time.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2014-04-19. Black body with a modest tan head. 3++ Aroma is sort of interesting, I canít quite put my finger on what is going on here. There is a not quite dusty quality to the malt, and a vaguely fruity character but fruity is the wrong word. Flavour is similarly interesting with soft subtle not quite dusty sweet malt. Whispers of fruity chocolate, dark malt core. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Rich, lovely stuff. On tap at Torst, Brooklyn.

Bottle from Drikkeriget, Viktoriagade. Aroma is strong and sweet. Has a smell of alcohol and a deep tone of chocolate. Pours black with a medium brown head. Taste is very smooth. Nice full body with lots of chocolate, malts and some vanilla. Palate has a creamy feeling and fills the mouth nicely. Overall a really nice beer which I dearly recommend.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle about a year old. Pours black with a small dark brown head that retains well and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is sweet roasted chocolate malts with some dark fruit.
The flavor is sweet roasted chocolate malts and dark fruit with a medium bitter roast finish that is slightly ashy. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth low carbonation.
Overall, a nice dessert beer. I like the balance of sweet and roast and the alcohol is well hidden with some late warming. This is better than remembered after some aging.

Lilí B pours black as the hinges of hell but topped with a heavenly, dense chocolate head and Iím already thinking about a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The aroma is boozy, dark vanilla and very dark roasted coffee.
Thereís a dryness to the first swallow that seems to only be there to make ready your taste buds for the ensuing flavor that sweeps in like a tidal wave and coats the entire inside of your mouth with a sweet sticky brew.
Leather and tobacco are prominent in the flavor, with black plums chiming in on the back end. As the beer warms and the head fades, I run the liquid around the sides of the snifter and create another island of foam; chocolaty and warm with swirls reminiscent of the skills of an excellent barista.
The high abv is obvious, but the excellent match of flavor to aroma to palate is keeping this particular beverage extremely drinkable. An ashy finish, long and creamy is going to be with me for more than a short while after the brew, but the after taste is very nice.
Iím not thinking about vanilla ice cream anymore. Now itís Black Cherry in a bowl with Lilí B poured all over it...yes...
