Behind Evil Twin is brewer Jeppe Bjergsø the brother of Mikkel Bjergsø, best known as Mikkeller. Both brothers have obviously a great love for hops for the Low Life is much more hoppy than the expected type correctness for a lager. Yet it is a pleasant acquaintance, for behind the first gentle citrus hoppy tasting hides a gentle light caramel malt which quickly is replaced by a little more fruity hops flavor of exotic fruit (passion fruit, grapefruit and peach). Very soft carbonation keeps the taste buds busy for a long time with good gentle malt shades and tasty hops. Perhaps tangent to the more pale ale than lager, but delicious is it at least.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can (473 ml) bought @ Winooski Beverage Warehouse.
Appearance: Slightly easy orange-golden with a medium easy to revive creamy white head and good lacing.
Aroma: Herbal and leafy hops forward along cereals, peppery notes and mild citrusy notes.
Taste: Herbal forward with peppery notes, breadied cereals and a rather high bitterness level for the style.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate to medium carbonation. Creamy and fluffy mouthfeel. Herbal and peppery finish. Lingering bitterness.
Overall: Hoppy pilsner with a nice fluffy mouthfeel. Bitterness level is a tad too high for the style. It’s quite drinkable and quenching nonetheless. I enjoyed.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
It's a hoppy lager. I like hops, I like full-bodied lager (and it does have plenty of malty body) and this delivers that unusual combination very well.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz from ygtbsm94 in the locals for locals trade. Thanks, Brad! Got this back in March. Can’t read the bottle date but I think this is about six months old now. Pours orange gold with a white head. Aroma is honey, fruity esters, mild earthy floral hop. This drinks real nice for a pils. Crisp, clean, with honey, white bread, just enough earthy floral hop to balance.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl bottle from Beer52.com. A straw coloured pour with a billowing off-white head; grassy aroma with a trace of spice and citrus; bready taste with some sourness and acidity and some quite aggressive dry spicy hops that give some warmth to the finish, and make this very different from a European pilsner.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355 ml bottle.
Pours clear pale golden color with a small white head. Some herbal notes on the nose, mild hops, sweet fruity notes, slightly grassy, kind of wheaty too, some fusel on the the background. Flavor is also a bit grassy with sweet orange notes, gooseberries on the aftertaste. Bitter palate, oily and lingering fruity finish with grainy notes. Not quite what I was expecting, decent.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
16 oz single can from Molly’s Spirits. Light orange and slight hazy appearance with a fluffy, lasting white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, toasted grain, biscuit, grass and light hop resin. Flavor is husky, raw grainy, bready malts, mildly bitter and light peppery spice. Average body with a crisp feel, ample carbonation and a mild dry finish. Pretty solid pilsner overall. Paired with Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and Widespread Panic’s All Time Low from Live in the Classic City (4/01/2000).
