A clever woman once said; ’fair is foul and foul is fair’. On that note we threw in a young, unacknowledged hoppy pilsner, gave it a limp, wrinkly flavor and finished it off with an insulting high price that will give you a foul feeling in your mouth. That’s why we name Evil Twin Brewing’s Low Life the Golddigger of Beers.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a small white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is citrus, grain, strawberry, grass, hay. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Light/medium body, watery/oily texture, soft carbonation. Clean and light bitter finish.

650. Pours a hazy burnished dark amber with a loose white head. Has some bright sparkling edges, but hardly the sparkling clear yellow fizz some pilseners show. Biscuity, bready nose. Could be a lot crisper, but not at all unpleasant. Creamy lightish body; not quite watery. Toasty, crackery mid palate. Kind of ended up in the middle on this one--not light and crisp and sparkling, and neither is it an effervescent beer full of interesting yeast and hop interplay. But shows no flaws.

Tap pours hazy light straw yellow with creamy tight white head. Aromas of grains perfume and grass. Generous bitterness, light yeast character. Satisfying lingering graininess and hop grassiness.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours hazy gold with 4 fingers of creamy off-white head. Aroma of fresh light pitted fruit and citrus. Med minus body. Mild carb. Flavor is simply fresh fruit. Finishes mildly bitter. Quite delicious. Fruity enough to be an ale.

marcus (6342) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 18, 2013
Bottle from City Beer. Pours cloudy golden with a rich white head and a floral aroma. There is a hearty pilsner malt flavor with a substantial hop profile. A pretty decent pilsner.

Bomber poured a clear gold with a lingering ring of white foam. Aromas of bread, yeast and earthiness. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, yeast and light citrus with a smooth dry finish.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose screams grassy hops, a little corn, and some biscuity malt. Flavour is similar, bringing out grassy hops with a medium bite and sweet corn malt, not a whole lot else. Good balance, with perhaps a more restrained grassy hop bite than I prefer in my pils, but this still just the job decently enough, just not interestingly enough. Decent, but ultimately mundane pilsner.

Nocturne (746) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2013
Draught at BrewDog Manchester. Slightly hazy gold with a fluffy white head and lacing. Plenty of fruity hop character above more familiar grainy lager notes. Hop bitter taste with hints of citrus, apricot and berry. This almost feels like an IPA, but there’s enough pils character to separate it. A good one.

Off keg at Brewdog Nottingham. Not a massive fan of pilsner, but this is up there with the best I’ve had. Very enjoyable.

Pours a orangey golden color with a finger of foam. Aromas are doughy citrus and whiffs of earthy fruit. apricot? On the palate it follows the nose nicely with a medium mouthfeel and a nice doughy backbone. Great citrusy fruit mingles with a touch of bitterness on the finish. Nice pilsener...
