COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A clever woman once said; ’fair is foul and foul is fair’. On that note we threw in a young, unacknowledged hoppy pilsner, gave it a limp, wrinkly flavor and finished it off with an insulting high price that will give you a foul feeling in your mouth. That’s why we name Evil Twin Brewing’s Low Life the Golddigger of Beers.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a cloudy golden color. The head is a two finger white shade. Texturing is more frothy than creamy, with a floater in the middle suggesting a good hop profile. Plenty of lacing is left on the glass, too, also suggesting a good hop profile. S: This seems to be loaded with a few ’Merican hops, which is a welcoming presence. They provide notes of grapefruit, apricot, and grass. There also seems to be a vegetal note hidden in there that I don’t like too much - evoking green bell peppers. Otherwise, solid. T: It takes a bit of time for the hop profile (and the welcoming bitterness) to hit the palate, but when it does, it introduces notes of apricot, pine, grapefruit, and maybe some nettle. Not much malt presence - a good thing. Only the vegetal hints of bell pepper keep this from being great. M: This has a crisp bite to it, along with a dry finish. Pleasantly bitter on the palate, too. Moderate carbonation does a good job of quashing any potential for a syrupy texture. O: A really solid pilsner. The price point ($11/4 pack) only seems cheap in comparison to other Evil Twin brews - taking that out of consideration, this is actually pretty damn expensive. Shame about that price, because this is up there with both Sunshine Pils and Prima Pils in my opinion.

About as good an American pilsner as I’ve had, but that is still not really saying much. This one had a body and profile somewhere in between a pale ale and a pilsner. But the finish is just lacking that crispness that makes a good pilsner so special.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden colour. Aroma mostly hoppy, orange peel, resiny, light caramel. Taste is hoppy with tangerine, orange peel, lightly earthy. Rather light body. Lightly tart earthy zesty finish. Decent, though a bit too empathic hops for a Pilsner.

Color anaranjado algo turbio con espuma blanca uniforme. Aromas suaves de hierba y malta. Textura ligera, melosa y fresca con un inicio que recuerda vagamente al azúcar moreno y un amargor final seco y herbal. Rica pils.

Straw yellow, cloudier than most. Fluffy head in a thin pilsner glass, with a tall crown of lace. The carbonation doesn’t really show up until you swirl that baby around. The aroma is Euro malts, but at least it is barley and nice Rice Krispies. It’s crisp and slightly sweet. The hop is incredibly mild, but pleasant enough. There isn’t much you can do with a pils. The flavor is sweet malts, but again, remarkably free of adjuncts. The hop reminds me of the kind of hop you might see in 1979 when someone gave you a "hoppy" beer. And that’s a good thing. Would have been a wonderful gateway beer in the Carter administration. The feel is foamy; medium bodied. If all pilsners could be this crisp and free of corn syrup, we might have an actual beer culture among the hoi polloi in this country. Though you can’t do a whole lot with a pilsner, it’s a pretty good one.

Fizzy straw colored pour with a nice ivory crowns. Citrus, cereal, honey, and Saltines. Highly drinkable, not at all complex. The brewers description is dead on. Meh.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 10/23/2013. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pear, cracker, bread, light honey, floral, grass, light pepper, herbal, and floral/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and clean yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pear, floral, grass, light pine, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pear, floral, grass, light pine, cracker, bread, light honey and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of hop and malt flavors with minimal yeast ester presence; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice hoppy pilsner style. All around nice balance and robustness of hop and malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours a hazy light golden color with a bone white head with decent lacing. Aroma of grain, cracker malt and some grassy hops. Taste is more flavorful than macro pilsner with a mild graininess along with some honeyed biscuit sweetness and breadiness. Mild but decent amount of grassy bitterness also for a pilsner. Finishes dry with a bit of bitterness. Mouthfeel is crisp with a light/medium body and moderate carbonation. Very drinkable and clean. My kind of Pilsner. Would drink again.
