COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A clever woman once said; ’fair is foul and foul is fair’. On that note we threw in a young, unacknowledged hoppy pilsner, gave it a limp, wrinkly flavor and finished it off with an insulting high price that will give you a foul feeling in your mouth. That’s why we name Evil Twin Brewing’s Low Life the Golddigger of Beers.

Bottle pour. Had on tape at Tørst, but I think I like it more out of a bottle. Nice pilsener flavor (with some sweetness on the nose) and a great bitter finish with good balance. Nice.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 10/23/2013. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pear, cracker, bread, light honey, floral, grass, light pepper, herbal, and floral/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and clean yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pear, floral, grass, light pine, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pear, floral, grass, light pine, cracker, bread, light honey and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of hop and malt flavors with minimal yeast ester presence; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice hoppy pilsner style. All around nice balance and robustness of hop and malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Draught at CBC. Hazy light golden with a huge, stable white head. Aroma is flowery hoppy, light malts with some perfumery, light soapy notes. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, with fruity and flowery notes, a crisp, superdry finish and a creamy texture. Realy aroma-intense and enjoyable thirst-quencher.

Tap at CBC. Low haze straw with higher carbonation. Soapy, webby lacing. Decent retention. Grapefruit and mango hop nose. Pretty dank. Doughty, fresh, estery. Taste is bready, hay, orange peel, heavy noble hop squash and melon character. Aerated mouthfeel. Czech pils written all over this one. Nice job Jeppe ;)

Bomber into a fluted glass. Pours gold with a slight white head that leaves loose lacing. Citrus, grass, biscuit. Taste is biscuit, fruits, grass, a bit of soap. Would love a bit more of a dry, crisp finish. The sweetness makes things a bit sticky.

Pours lightly hazy orange with a nice sized white head. The aroma has semi-sweet bready malt, light fruit, bit of grassy/spicy hops and mild candy. Medium body that starts off pretty thick for a pilsner, but the fairly sharp carbonation gives a bit crisper character to the finish. The flavor starts off pretty malty and sweet for a pils, but there is some grassy, spice and sulfur offsetting it from becoming too sweet. There is a breadiness at first, then when the hops kick in more towards the end it gets more of a cracker aspect. The finish really shows off the grass and sulfur a lot. This is a nice pilsner, but as the label states this pretty pricy for a pils & I don’t see return visits since I can get solid pils for a lot less. Still a nice one to try.

Draft at torst Smell and taste were really well balanced. Taste of malt with a slight hop character. Would have rated higher if pilsener was my styles

A golden pils with a thin lacinng white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy herbaceous hops, lightly herbaceous. In mouth, good crisp malt with herbal hops, light citrus, refreshing and well done.

On tap at Original Gravity in San Jose. Pours hazy translucent yellow. Nice lacy foam, thin but durable. Aromas are wheat lemon and honey. Little pilsner funk in the nose. Taste is clean and crisp, light biscuit malt flavors, Lemon in the mid palate before a clean, mild funk finish. If I were to brew a pilsner, I’d want it to taste like this.
