3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at CBC Clapham, cloudy scarlet-brown with a fast-settling head, disatinct notes of pickled beetroot and lemon on the nose, but there’s very little beet flavour, it’s more crisp and tart, with citric acid and just hints of aniseed and something vaguely vegetal.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
I guess this was brewed to drink with a particular dish, without the food, it drinks like a rather thin, rhubarb influenced Weisse . Only hints of the beetroot and liquorice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
600 ml bottle from Gulating. Hazy slightly reddish golden body with a moderate sized off white head with a hint of pink. Aroma is fruity, berries and definitively acidic, floral and some kind of spices that’s difficult to identify. Flavor has acidic berries, sour fruit, light caramel malt, earthy beetroot, pepper and lemmon. Thin body that match the beer perfect and a long lasting tart/acidic/lactic fruity aftertaste with the same kind of unidentified spices from aroma. It’s a really complex beer that deserves some time, and its rather difficult to identify all the flavors, but in the end it actually ends up a bit too acidic for my stomach. Still a nice one, but something this complex would probably gain on a bit higher drinkability as I need quite a lot of this too make a prober rating.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear copper with a nice off-white head and champagne like-carbonation bubbles. Rhubarb, lemon, shiso and a slight earthy (beet-like) aroma as it warms. Taste is rhubarb and lemon zest with the licorice coming in on the finish. Nicely tart. Excellent carbonation throughout. Dry and crisp and super refreshing. Wonderful!

Bottle, shared with phantomhennes and KvM. Dark orange, hazy, rapidly fading head. Lightly tart aroma. Rhubarb, unripened berries, earthy undertones, spritzy and tart with a slightly salty finish. Very much authentic and to style. Excellent.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is slight tang, sour grapes, honey and yeast.Taste is light sweet malts that isn’t too complex but overshadowed by sour grapes and funk. This beer is all over the place. Not overly pleasant. Appearance is a hazy orange and a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.
