Named after an antagonist movie character with a violent temper and a propensity for drooling, furthermore brewed amongst mad-ish Scottish dogs. Nevertheless is this beer far from mad itself. You’ll find it a very pleasant, peaceful and a loyal Pale Ale – woof.

Draft at Monks. Slightly hazy copper pour with just some wandering foam for a head. Very juicy and very dry. Red plums. Elephant ear mushrooms. Caramel sweetness in the middle but a big floral hop bite to finish. Full and crisp for a nondescript Pale Ale. Hopped up quite a bit. Very nicely blended.

Bottled (thanks Kimi!). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is brutal grass and floral notes. Flavour is grassy, bready, quite dry earthyness. Too hoppy for an APA, too little alcohol for IPA. Yet a very good beer for hopheads (which I am not, sadly).

Clear amber color, small steady off-white head. Aroma of hops, tropical fruits, metal and wet doggie. Light-bodied. Sharp bitterness, fruity hoppyness, waterish palate. Long lingering bitterness in the aftertaste with hints of metal. Quite brewdoggish brew.

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 1 Aug 2012) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of citrus, toast and grainy malt. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, grainy malt, peaches and a generous spicy bitterness in a dry finish. Medium body, quite dry. Refreshing and tasty. Nice one.

Strykzone (6761) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - SEP 14, 2012
12 ounce bottle. This is well filtered darker golden with a nice beige head. Some lacing. This beer is all about citrus hops. They are big for the style and are bitter. Caramel builds as the beer warms but never equals the hops. A hint of cinnamon. A quality pale ale.

Bottle poured a light amber with orange hues, medium whitish head, and minimal lacing. Aroma is mainly grassy and piney hop notes and a hint of citrus. Taste is undistinguishable blend of piney, floral, and citrus notes. Nothing memorable and less drinkable than expected considering low ABV.
