Bottle: Thanks Jan: An almost clear yellow colored beer with a small white head/lacing. Hops, soap, citrus, sweet, grainy, soapy, bitter, fruity, floral, pine, resin. Very nice. Aftertaste is strong bitter and stayin bitter with pine, citrus, grains, hay and grass. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium to full body and a light creamy texture.

Pours deep hazy gold into a tulip. Tan head tophats and recedes leaving gloppy lacing to form a meringue center. Tropical fruit and resin aromas. Pretty one-dimensional with sharp bitter earth grapefruit front to back and into the lasting pith finish.

330ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a 3 finger white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is big on citrus with some earthy notes. Taste is a grapefruit hop bitterness with some earthy bitterness as well and an underlying malty sweetness. Medium bodied with nice carbonation leaving a pleasant sensation on the palate. A nice representation of the style and quite tasty and deserves a sampling or two.

330ml bottle from City Beer, San Francisco, CA

Vertical with Hipster Ale - Pours reddish orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of biscuity malts, wet cardboard, hints of fruity hops and grass. Taste is biscuity and stingy hoppy with notes of grass and hints of pine & fruits. Bitter and hoppy finish with a lot of biscuity malty notes and hints of nuts. Okay, quite basic but tasty pale ale.

Bottled. Almost clear, golden, fluffy white head. Hoppy, light malty aroma - flowery, piney, grassy, caramel. Taste is sweet malty and heavy bitter and very dry finish. Tight. Too tight, perhaps.

Slightly unclear amber yellow colour, off-white head. Aroma of malts, honey, lots of hops. Citrus, sweat, pine resin, floral notes, you name it. Quite bitter flavour, light sweet, very fruity. Quite dry. Bitter, fruity finish, hops, light honey sweetness.

Bottle from Malt & Vine

Amber pour, abundant off-white head. Aroma of candied grapefruit peel and whole wheat bread and just a faint whiff of dust. Grapefruit rind forward on the flavor, malts coming on a bit too sweet and caramelly. A bit thick on the tongue. Pretty close to being something really special, but not quite there. I’d have thought a truly hipster ale would be drier -- maybe the sweetness is ironic, and I just wouldn’t get it.

A - Slightly hazy amber-orange with a finger of frothy off-white head. Fades down medium. S - Sweet grains, caramel malts, grapefruit, citrus, and floral hops. T - Sweet grainy and caramel malts, grapefruit, citrus, and floral hops, some resiny bitterness. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth, dry, bitter, and grainy finish. D - Nicely balanced. A bit different than most APAs with the grainy wheat thing, but still good.
