4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap. The beer was a creamy malt laden fruity hop bomb. It was pretty bitter, and way higher in ABV than I had expected.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy orange with a thin, off-white head. Big, resinous hop aroma alongside some citrus candy sweetness. Flavor packs an upfront hop punch (mostly citrus), quickly followed by some syrupy sweetness. Finish is bittersweet in an odd way. It’s almost as if some additional flavorings have been added to cover the booze, in addition to an already massive hop and malt bill. Very hoppy, malty and sweet but not cloying, and no overwhelming booze presence...but a little too syrupy for my taste.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ The BeerMongers... Poured amber/orange with a thick, eggshell, beige head. Nice retention. Lots of malt and sugar on the nose. Thick, mouthfeel, quite safe with bitterness and resinous hop spicing. A bit of heat in the finish with leafy hops and earthiness.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Has this side by side with ET Yang. Wow. They are very different beers. This one pours amber with a thin off white head. Lot and lots of citrus. Mostly orange in the nose. Slight pine resin also. Flavor follows but is also very sweet and somewhat malty. Fairly full bodied and fairly bitter but not overly so. Finishes fairly sweet. Nice beer. I liked it better than Yang.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tough one to rate. On one hand, its messy, hot, overly hopped and overly sweet. However when you look at the description on the label, it seems like that’s exactly what they intended the beer to be. The hugeness of the hops and malts is interesting, but the beer feels a bit like a liqueur. I’ve had higher ABV beers that felt less like a spirit than this one.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at the Trappist, Oakland. Colour is clear orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours. Fruits, hops, hints of alcohol and malts. Not as bad as expected, I was prepared for typical Danish glue mess.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Moderate to heavy roasted, caramel and light bread for the malt, moderate to heavy hop aroma of orange and grapefruit peel, light to moderate dough for the yeast, with peach, honey and a big mix of dried fruits. Head is small, frothy, off-white with some slippery lacing and good legs and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear light amber/orange. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately bittersweet and lightly acidic. Palate is medium to full, syrupy with soft carbonation and a sticky on the lips finish. Hoppy yes, but a big malty sweetness in this beer, and the fruitiness takes over and makes it a hugely complex DIPA.
