English: Did you like Before During and after Christmas? Maybe thought it pored brilliantly, the alcohol was admirable well hidden and you loved how the arrogant amount of hops numbed you. This beer will knock your tongue off, essentially due to the obscure amount of hops that went down this explosive fella – it’s a tour de force in hoppyness and by far the craziest beer ever made from Evil Twin – but not the last.

(6. Aug. 2013, draft at City Beer, SF) This is one dangerous fellow! Pours golden, slightly hazy, orange. The aroma is almost visible; very fat and deep, like putting your nose in a steaming kettle full of hop smoothie, placed on a stack of pine branches with an extremely sweaty guy looking over your shoulder, chewing on an overripe peach. Puh! The bitterness attacks your palate and tongue INstantly, this is an IIPA blown up in every way; alcoholy (not as bad as you could imagine though), sweet, big, malicious!

Flaska från SBs beställningssortiment. Bärnsten/orange, grumlig, relativt lågt skum, men fina gardiner. Stor söt fruktig doft med aprikoser, persika, grape och mango jämte tall och resin. Fruktig, men framförallt riktigt riktigt besk.

Pours hazy copper / orange with a soapy off-white head. The aroma has tropical hoppiness with mango, pineapple and papaya. There is quite a bit of caramel maltiness as well as come hoppy citrus. Big and hoppy, but balanced as well for such a big beer. Full body with fairly soft carbonation. The flavor starts out HUGE with thick chewy sweet caramel maltiness that would be an overpowering sweet mess if it wasn’t for the earthy, fruity, tropical and floral hops presence. The finish has a sweet syrupy stickness and bitter grapefruit rind bitterness battled to overwhelm the palate. This is really good for what it is. Having it bottled just 10 days ago probably helps as well.

Bottle. Cloudy deep amber/copper liquid with small off-white head. Aroma of tangerine, toffee, grapefruit, citrus, biscuit, light sweet alcohol and grapefruit. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with notes of tangerine, mango, dried fruit, caramel, toffee and dark fruit. Some booze. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation and sticky mouthfeel. Too malty.

@ Ölprovning i Klippan 18/10.

The body is hazy orange/gold color with no real head. The lace fades quickly. The aroma is strong, and reminds me of apricot brandy and rich, malty barley wine. The body is oily and viscous, I really do think of this as a barley wine more than an IPA, both in flavor and mouth-feel. The taste has some peaches and a little apricot and grapefruit, along with that strong, rich, forward malt that I associate with barley wine. Strong bitterness in the close, but more of a medicinal quality than a nice IPA sting. I won’t have this again, the 13% ABV is a sledge hammer and this beer is too pricey for something I didn’t enjoy much. Not my favorite Evil Twin offering at all.
