COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: Did you like Before During and after Christmas? Maybe thought it pored brilliantly, the alcohol was admirable well hidden and you loved how the arrogant amount of hops numbed you. This beer will knock your tongue off, essentially due to the obscure amount of hops that went down this explosive fella – it’s a tour de force in hoppyness and by far the craziest beer ever made from Evil Twin – but not the last.

From Craftissimo. Orangey amber with small watery white head. Smells quite sweet at first - malt, pineapple and orange. Floral hop in background. Bit of spice, alcohol, vegetal mustiness. Tastes hugely, hugely hoppy (herbal, bitter) but quite spicy and malty/sweet too. Body is medium-full with a nice big oiliness. Hard to fault a beer for being too big when it's this balanced and ambitious, but as impressive as this is, the hoppiness (so overwhelming it's minty/vegetal) is too much for me.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Hazy deep amber pour - nice. Aroma is really appealing - big juicy grapefruit and pineapple; the high alcohol is apparent too. Taste is hops explosion - the sort of vegetal taste that seems to come from very high alcohol/big DIPAs. More balanced in this but still wish it didn't have that herbaceous tinge. Very sweet and malty finish with a lasting booziness.

Pours a hazy golden amber with just a smattering of bubbly white head. Nose is very sharp, bright grapefruit, a little pineapple, some caramel. There are an obscene about of hops in here. Flavor starts off with some orange marmalade, grapefruit peel, lemon, a bit of pine. The finish is a little sticky and sweet, very bitter (even for my palate), lots of grapefruit. Body is fairly heavy with a sticky, dense mouthfeel that coats your lips.

Shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Hazy orange, off-white head. Nose is caramel, malt, citrus, hops. Flavor is thick malty sweetness, grapefruit, oranges, pine. Powerful hoppy bitter hit in the finish along with a generous amount of warm booze. Thick and heavy, beyond a DIPA.

Pours pale amber, unclear due to many hop particles with beige, thick, frothy top leaving light lasing. Lasting not long. Aroma- enormous malt sweetness, intense light-caramel suplemented by dozens of pine, resin and light citrusy hops, hints of leather and wooden too. Nice balance in flavor between massive sweetness ans deep bitterness. Astringent mouthfeel, light dry finish, flat carbonation, medium-full body, long piney-resiny aftertaste. Good sample of IIPA, maybe seems too sweet for drinking, but for sipping- perfect.

7/VI/14 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ Klaas & Liesje’s place - bottled: II/12/14 (2014-605) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!<b/>

Clear dark orange beer, irregular yellow head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet and malty, sugary, caramel, bit of jam, fruity. MF: ok carbon, full body. Taste: sweet and sugary start, some citrus, honey, fruity. Aftertaste: passion fruits, lots of sweet mango, caramel, pretty bitter, sugary, piny touch.

Growler pour on 6/29/14. Pours a nearly clear orangeish amber with a lasting slightly off white head. Nose is faintly hoppy, ripe fruits, peaches, mango. Taste is sweet, fruity, peaches, and mango again followed by bitterness and alcohol on the back. Dangerously drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pours hazy bright golden with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. sweet peaches - canned peaches in their syrup, melons, mangoes, minty booziness, brown sugar and caramel, fat, doughy and sweet fruity maltiness; fruit liquor, fruit salad juice, flowers. moderate carbonation, medium to full body - oily and sticky - not quite cloying, bold and not quite harsh resinous-peppery-piney finish. aromatic, tasty and smooth - surprisingly drinkable.

Bottle from Bottledog, Kings Cross. Now, I’m not one to use profanities in my ratings, but holy shit, this is a big beer. If this beer had bollocks, they’d be so big, it’d need a wheelbarrow to cart them around in. That’s not to say it’s any good, mind. Just big. With bollocks.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2014 This is a serious sipping beer, up there with big stouts. Color is amber, and when you’re pouring it, you can tell it has quite high viscosity like some stouts. The aroma is booze, malt and hops. Taste is sweet malt, some piney hops, caramel. The alcohol is evident, and influences the taste, but unlike some high ABV beers where the alcohol isn’t particularly pleasant, here it is and actually contributes to the balance. I’m a bit surprised how much I like this one - heavy, malty IPAs aren’t usually my favorites.
