English: Did you like Before During and after Christmas? Maybe thought it pored brilliantly, the alcohol was admirable well hidden and you loved how the arrogant amount of hops numbed you. This beer will knock your tongue off, essentially due to the obscure amount of hops that went down this explosive fella Ė itís a tour de force in hoppyness and by far the craziest beer ever made from Evil Twin Ė but not the last.

Dark orange color with a medium head. Boozy, caramel laden aroma. Big caramel and grain flavor. Monster bitterness, but thick chewy malt background that is still kinda sweet. Candied orange peel, pine needles.

Aroma is full of resin and sweet fruits and alcohol tingle-tangle a bit in your nose hair. Taste is deep, sweet malts with a fair amount of sweet oranges, ripe pineapple and cookie dough. In the long aftertaste resin, caramel and a bit of booze hug each other in a group hug. This is a real badass, and I love it. Go big, or go home!

Rating #1485 - 07.03.2015 - 355mL Bottle from Sherbrooke. Pours a darker amber, with a bubbly tan head. Aroma is citrusy, lemony, piney hops predominant. Taste is extremely hoppy, tempered with a pleasant cookie dough malty sweetness, 13% ABV canít possibly go undisguised here - itís borderline barleywine country, mild lemon, mild pine, mild resin. Flavours are impactful and somewhat masochistic.

This beer is strong. It doesn't feel like an IPA. It feels like a string ale. A malty backbone carries a pretty potent initial kick of hops. Alcohol comes in fast and moves through the finish.

Draft. Poured a clear bright yellow and had a large sudsy white head to it. Aroma was nice with tons of fruit notes with tropical and citrus. Flavor had grapefruit, lemon, mango, sweet candy. Alcohol was masked really well. Medium body, sticky texture, good carbonation, slightly bitter and easy finish. Very good beer.

Bottle. Malty aroma of over-riped peach and grapefruit. Body is medium and texture is oily. Flavour is very sweet with a very bitter long finish. Light alcohol burn in it.

A badass brewery. A badass beer name. A badass beer. "Hop Bomb" is typically the phrase used to describe a beer thatís heavy on IBUís. But with 13% ABV, Molotov Cocktail is more of an incendiary device, as the name implies. Wait, what does that sentence mean? I guess I just thought it sounded cool. Just one of these made me tipsy. Iím getting to be a lightweight. Anyway, Molotov Cocktail is a helluva an IPA. Dark orange pour. Piney, biscuity aroma. Flavor is redolent of citrus (bitter grapefruit, sweet tangerine), resinous pine, and sugary alcohol. Imperial IPAís with this much booze run the risk of having medicinal undertones or overwhelming sweetness. Molotov Cocktail avoids these pitfalls by still managing to be plenty crisp and bitter despite itís high-intoxicant factor. A balls-out brew, for sure, but a beautifully made one.

Keg @The Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell. Pours golden, slightly hazy, thinnish white head. Nose is nutty, apples, toffee apples. Taste is resin, citrus fruits, nutty but lots of sweetness on the finish, not my cup of tea.

Bottle shared at the Nov. 2015 Monticello Dairy tasting. Hazy orange, thin creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of candied grapefruit and pale malt. The taste is grapefruit, lemon, tea, brown sugar, booze. Medium bodied.

bottle - Pours murky orange and has an intensely hoppy aroma with resin, citrus, caramel malt, and alcohol. It has strong flavors of bitter, resinous hops and caramel malt sweetness. Itís full bodied and aggressive as hell on the palate. It put me in mind of Stone Double Bastard though that could be off as itís been a long time since I had Double Bastard. Itís still very good if you love hops like I do, though honestly I think I prefer a really well made double IPA in the 8-10% abv range.
