COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: Did you like Before During and after Christmas? Maybe thought it pored brilliantly, the alcohol was admirable well hidden and you loved how the arrogant amount of hops numbed you. This beer will knock your tongue off, essentially due to the obscure amount of hops that went down this explosive fella Ė itís a tour de force in hoppyness and by far the craziest beer ever made from Evil Twin Ė but not the last.

Bottled 2/12/14, and poured 4/14/14. $4 single. I was a bit hesitant to buy a 2 month old IPA for $4, but the ABV is high enough on this one that I felt itíd keep the hops in-tact for a little while. Appearance: Poured aggressively and couldnít quite get the whole beer in the glass due to the fluffy, light tan head. Plenty of floaters throughout the glass. The beer is copper-brown in color, and thereís a good amount of thick lacing. Unexpected given the ABV. Smell: Huge. Dank. Beautiful. Itís a huge wallop of pine and tropical fruits, but thereís a massive malt sweetness (expected for the ABV). The alcohol really isnít there in an obvious way, but youíll probably just get the feeling that this is a big beer, even in a blind tasting. I guess you can just sort of "smell the heat", I suppose? Awesome aroma. Taste/feel: Massively syrupy sweet at first, unsurprisingly, but also an awesome, dank, bitter hoppiness. Bursting freshness, despite the fact this was bottled a couple months ago. I surprisingly donít find this to be very abrasive/harsh given its intense hopping. Plenty of body with a mild, maybe moderate carbonation. A big, big beer thatís a joy to drink. Itís more of a sipper, but its surprising drinkability will make you want to drink it a bit fast. Very dry finish due to that 13%. A slight warmth in the throat and on the back of the tongue, with some of stickiness, and nice bitterness. Since this is 13%, it may be appropriate to call this a "Triple IPA"... but I donít know. Triple IPAs Iíve had before have tasted like American Barleywines, but this one really tastes like an Imperial IPA. Phenomenal. $4 seems a bit on the high side (eh, maybe not so much for an Evil Twin beer...), but it is most definitely worth it. It is most definitely a big beer with a lot of sweetness and thickness, but if you like hops, you should be able to appreciate this one... I really, REALLY like it. Given the ABV and the complexity of this brew, thereís not too much more I can ask for. Make no qualms about it, the name "Molotov Cocktail" is a more than appropriate name for this brew -- not for the faint of íbuds.

Growler from CBX. Cloudy apricot pour with a bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet sticky caramel malts, resinous, dank grapefruit hops. Flavor is syrupy, tongue exhausting hoppiness with sticky sweet caramel maltiness. This ones a doozy.

On tap at Whole Foods in Market Square in Fairfax, VA. Hazy, reddish copper-orange with a khaki head and good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, mango and dank caramel. Taste of tropical fruit, alcohol, pineapple, big citrus, more fruit and even a hint of chocolate. Medium/full body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Review according to BJCP2008 guidelines (style 14C). AROMA: very intense hop aroma, with floral, grassy and some resinous notes. Sweetness from malt in the background and some dried grape notes. Alcohol aroma masked by the hops. APPEARANCE: deep golden amber with orange tint. Medium head retention with ivory color. A bit of haze presente maybe due to un-filtered dry-hopping. TASTE: strong hop flavour with floral notes and very high bitterness Sweet malty flavour that balances the hop bitterness. Low fruitiness flavors to dried grapes. A very long and lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. PALATE: smooth medium body with no astringency with moderate carbonation. OVERALL: a very intense Imperial IPA with complex aromas and balanced. Recommended, but not for everyone.

Pour from a 12 oz. bottle. Consumed on 4-7-14. Scents of apricot, pine, caramel, yellow plum, and paprika. Alcohol is noticeable in the smell. Otherwise, the aroma is not as powerful as I expected. It smells like a single IPA in terms of the hops content. Pours a mostly clear, deep gold with some suspended particulate. Small amount of beige head. Excessively sweet taste: Marshmallow, ice wine. Spicy hoppiness and dry finish. Definitely the sweetness dominates the dryness in the flavor. Dry aftertaste. Full body; drinks slowly; filling. Heat in the throat from the alcohol. Oily and somewhat lively in the palate. Too filling and just too much overall palate-wise. Molotov Cocktail rises up, passes the point of quality, and descends into being not very good. Itís not awful, but itís also not enjoyable.

Bottle. Aroma resiny, citrus fruits, orange peel. Orangeish golden colour. Taste is very sweet up front, orange citrusy, with candy and caramel. High bitterness, the hops does not hide anywhere. Warm alcohol in the finish. Very good.
