COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: This is a true story about a dedicated belgian brother who spent all his hard earned money on a all inclusive Barbados vacation to pursue a life long dream – brew an old fashion dark Belgian infused with local muscovado sugar aka Barbados sugar – luckily the outcome is a first class candy coated, full-bodied and escapist beer – the best he ever made. Halleluja.

Shared at the local homebrew Christmas party. Dark reddish brown pour with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, slightly roasted, and caramel. Taste is roasted, sweet prunes.

0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew and OleR. Pours a near clear nutty-brown body with a small sidesticking bubbly head. Aroma is really sweet with caramel and heavy ripe banana. Also some hints of pure alcohol. Average carbonation, medium-bodied and it has a sticky and syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor-wise this is really sweet with enormous amounts of banana - a bit to much perhaps? -, some plums and almost no bitterness. Like drinking fermented liquid banana-concentrate topped with caramel, brown sugar and ripe strawberries. Nice warming aftertaste. All that being said, it was not any bad flavors but one glass is enough..

Pours a two finger khaki head that vanishes leaving no lace. Very dark brown color, yeast left in bottle. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Brown sugar nose and flavor is molasses and brown sugar but not cloying. Higher ABV is hidden. Expensive at $9.99 for a 500ml bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT.

28-OCT-2011, bottle @home from "Fish & Beer". Clear brown almost no head. Nose is sugary sweet caramel with a hint of licorice - moscovado? Taste is quad like with caramel and dried fruit. Very sweet, almost no bitterness. Fine belgian.

Another stellar beer from this place. I loved the blend of candy sugar, bread, caramel and spice. This one really sat well with me. I love Belgian Strongs.

Dark garnet pour with a small off white head. Huge dark fruit and bread in the nose lead to a flavor full of raisin, date, molasses, caramel, and fig. Massive sweetness- just too much for me. Thick cloying palate with low carbonation.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks troubles. Pours deep red with a beige to brown head, aroma of toffee, honey, molasses, vanilla, some caramel, flavor of fruit juice, toffee, fruit acids, glue, medium bodied

Draught at Churchkey. Deep red pour. The nose and flavor are bursting with sweetness; raisin, molasses, apple, brandy.... apple brandy..... plum, candied sugars, and caramel. The flavor is much of the same, but it’s a bit too much; cloying, and syrupy sweet. Ehhh.

500ml bottle. Pours a deep clear copper with a big creamy beige head that recedes slowly to a solid cap. Aroma is very sweet with lots of cane sugar and caramel malts. Plenty of booze soaked fruits, plums and raisins especially. Taste is more of the same though it’s actually a little less sweet than I was expecting. There is lots of cola-like sweetness with cane sugar, various dark fruits and vanilla. There is more of the Belgian yeast coming through which evens the sweetness a bit. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy and well carbonated. I really thought this was going to be a diabetes-inducing beer given the title and the nose but the taste is more balanced than that. Really solid Belgian dark.
