COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: This is a true story about a dedicated belgian brother who spent all his hard earned money on a all inclusive Barbados vacation to pursue a life long dream – brew an old fashion dark Belgian infused with local muscovado sugar aka Barbados sugar – luckily the outcome is a first class candy coated, full-bodied and escapist beer – the best he ever made. Halleluja.

Aroma - dark caramelized sugars, alcohol, somewhat nutty aroma, a little fig Appearance - very dark brown almost black; body is opaque; alcohol; tan head is about 2" and eventually rings out Taste - has a rich dark caramelized sugar presence; some fig, raisin, and a little bit of spices; there is a rich rum sort of quality Palate - body is heavy; the texture is sticky, thick, and slick; carbonation is lively; the finish is sort of alcoholic and a rich caramelized sugar sweetness.

Bottle. Brown pour. Over ripe dark fruit, sour vinegar, infection, remains of malt sweetness. Terrible.

50cl bottle at BRU, shared by Arve_Christian - thanks! Deep mahogany with a tan head. Sweet candy sugar like aroma with burnt sugar, caramel, malt, dark dried fruits and just hints of spices. Sweet and sugary with flavour of raisins and a very mild bitternes. Quite nice, but still a bit too sweet.

On bottle at Bru, Oslo. Dark brown, good offwhite/ brownish foam. High aroma intensity; malt, figue, dried fruits. Full body & high complexity . Quite sweet , ok balance. Very enjoyable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pretty good stuff although too expensive for the style. Nice dark pour with a decent head but no retention. Nose of dark fruit, sweet malt, and yeast. Taste follows the nose with a little candied fruit mixed in. Sweet but not cloying in the least.

The sweet brown sugar am molasses. The pallet is sugar cane, molasses without all the dark fruit and caramelization. There are subtle notes of date, raisin, and licorice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ruby brown with a small pale head. Aroma is brown sugar, dates, maple syrup, bread & butter pudding. Slightly sticky mouthfeel, medium bodied, sweet on the palate but not overpowering, short finish. Taste is brown sugar, dates, raisins, bread & butter pudding.

Pint bottle. Dark brown with a tan active head that dissipates quickly but leaves a half inch of foam. The aroma suggest super sweetness with chocolate and alcohol. The flavor is interestingly fruity and very sweet with a different kind of sweetness that is kind of like toffee. Alcohol is tasted. This is interesting and is indeed super sweet. Some kind of hop bitterness would be a welcome addition. Not quite cloying sweetness but too close for me.
