3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Christian (8548) - Odense, DENMARK - FEB 23, 2012
Black with a big and long lasting light brown head. Coffee and chocolate dominate the aroma. Sweet coffee and dark chocolate flavour - the base beer is in great balance, but there is too much coffee for my taste
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Papsoe (22983) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 20, 2012
Cask. Pours an opaque black with a thick, dense and delicious light brown head leaving a neat lacework - thick and syrupy. Has a distinct vanilla aroma with quite some sweet toffee as well. Very solid body, subtle roastiness, dark bitter chocolate and sweet turkish coffee. However has quite some hop bitterness to somehow balance out the bitterness if not exactly a session beer...There’s plenty of alcohol heat in the finish. Very enjoyable. 170212
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 thewolf (8663) - Kolding, DENMARK - FEB 20, 2012
Cask @ Dronning Louise, Esbjerg.
Completely, utterly black with a delicious, creamy, staying, beige cappucino head. Aroma has delicious chocolate, lots of vanilla, subdued dry coffee. Low carbonation, lovely dry and super-creamy mouthfeel. Super-lovely flavours. Deep chocolate, lots of roasted malts, vanilla, soft coffee, softly astringent. Really elegant bitterness even if it still quite a sweet Imperial Stout. High class.

Cask. A pitch black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes alcohol, roasted malt, dark bitter chocolate, and alcohol, leading to a very bitter finish. The body is silky smooth and with the alcohol coming thru.
