Congratulations, you have just managed to get your hands on Russian Roulette - a rare kind of collaboration between Evil Twin Brewing (Denmark) and OMNIPOLLO (Sweden).

This beer would best be described as an IPA with a twist. A twist that will reveal itself first after you "bust some caps".

One thing remains sure however, if you like hops and the lush texture of a well crafted beer this will have you smiling as you face your destiny.

Good luck,
Jeppe (Evil Twin Brewing) and Henok (OMNIPOLLO)

Bottle. Extremely lively pour, with an effervescent brown head dominating a dark brown body. Aroma is very hoppy, sweet tropical fruits and light pine. Intense hop character on the palate, papaya sweetness, mango skins, pine; the hops pretty much steal the show, completely dominating the toffee-ish dark malts. Long and extremely bitter finish.

Oddly disappointing for me. Black pour. Mildly hoppy nose. Flavors are quite intriguing at first, but the finish really becomes unbalanced after a few sips--very astringent and burnt finish.

Bottle pour opaque black with huge foaming tan head. Nose sweet malt, toffee, slight biscuit and dank hop. Big bitter bite up front. Some roasted flavor and then some minimal sweet malt. Astringent bitter finish. As it warms, some of the astringency calms down and flavors begin to come through.

Pours dark with a defined sticky foam head. The aroma is of pine and floral hops, lightly roasted malts, and carmel malts. In the flavor there was a medium level of bitterness, mild roasted malts, weak burnt carmel tones, and a nice citrus taste. Overall a good beverage but nothing profound stands out other than the hops.

Black pour with a tall frothy tan head that hangs around a long time. Aroma is chocolate, nutty notes, dark caramel, citrus and pine hops. Flavor is dark caramel, fruity, berry-like notes, chocolate, toast, sort of woody/husky grain, a little gingerish spice, pine and grapefruit. Nice creamy, slightly syrupy feel throughout, light to medium, somewhat sharp and blanketing carbonation suits the beer well. Really good stuff.

500 ml bottle. Black body with a big, creamy beige head. Aroma has dark malt, coffee, citric fruit and pine. Flavor is sweet, not very roasted dark malt, quite bitter, citric fruit, pine and a bit rustic in aftertaste. Fine body and very pleasant all the way really.

Bottle. A dense beige head leaves lacings. More or less black body, looking really good. The aroma is lightly roasted, with some chocolate. Green pine cones too. Roasted and bitter flavor with pine cones, citruspeel and some chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied and soft on the palate, and with a roasted and quite bitter finish. A nice Black IPA I could certainly drink more of, but I’d still prefer it less roasted. 121116

50 cl Bottle. Pours dark brown/black with a cherry coloured edge and a chunky tan head. Pretty lively. Floral, rosewater, perfumy, tropical fruit, veg aroma. Nice... Medium to light body, fine carbonation. Good balance of sweet ipa flavours and darker malts. Citrusy lemon and grapefruit as well as some pineapple sit alongside bitter coffee, a touch of choc and a little treacle toffee. Sizeable bitterness and it’s dry. Nice.

Bottle: Served in a Duvel glass: Thanks Papsø: Medium to bigger sized ashy beige light brown foamy head, changes slowly, on top of a black colored beer. Aromas of roasted malts, soap, hop citrus, yeast, some sweat, some manure, hint of lemon, dust. Flavours of bitters, liquorice, resin, roast, grapefruit, some resin and raisin... Super liquorice and bitter! Aftertaste is strong and lingering bitter with some herbs, strong liquorice, floral and grass. Strong aftertaste. Low carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, medium to lightly fuller body and a creamy texture. Great label. Decent beer but the bitternes dominates everything. Bit out of control...

Opaque black beer, big pale tan-cream head. Airy crisp palate. Minerals. Smooth smooth dark malt. Semi sweet pine and a little candy fruits. Whisper of sherbet and a touch of Parma Violets sweets. Well buried is a trace of coffee. A little orange on the back end and a dash of lime. Finishes semi dry with a piney bitter linger. A complex and tasty black ipa.
