Ooh this is good. Big bitterness. This is a hopheads Saison. Slightly cloudy with a big farmhouse flavor. Superb.

A me è piaciuta da impazzire!!!

1pt 0.9 fl oz bottle dated 03.08.2012, brewed at Fano. Hazy golden with smaller head than the Westbrook brewed version. Beautiful lacing. Fluffy and precious indeed. Not as much brett as I was expecting/hoping for, as I am a funk addict, but extremely, fantastically drinkable.

Draft at The Farmers’ Cabinet in Philadelphia, PA. Pours a very hazy, light golden orange color with golden yellow edges and a two finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks of lace left behind. Slightly funky, earthy aroma with subtle acetic vinegar undertones along with funky barnyard yeast notes.  Musty and sweaty with a strong citrusy wheat presence. Hints of lemon, musty funk, earthy wood and peppery spice. Full bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel that compliments the tart barnyard funkiness really well.  Slightly vinegary but not acetic or solvent-like.  Earthy, funky yeast with some brett and a subtle lactic presence along with zesty, peppery spice and sweet citrus.  Really well balanced and very quaffable considering the complexity.  I enjoyed this beer immensely.

Keg at Brewdog Camden. Hazy pale blond with white bubbly head. Aroma is bubblegum, sour brett yeast, lots of fruit, peach, banana, raspberry. Very nice. Taste equally good. Great cross between a saison and an Orval. Can’t get much better than that for me. Very spritzy and drinkable. Lots of fruit, bit of citrus and a touch of wheat. Nice crisp finish with a touch of bitterness. Really really nice.

Draft @Local Option’s ASS MAKEOVER event. Pours pale hazy yellow-orange with 1 finger of perfectly tight bubbles, good retention but fades to a skin after a few minutes. Aroma is Jolly Pumpkin all the way; plenty of refreshing brett tartness, rye spice, hay, grass, lemon peel. Taste is very funky with tartness and spice, French Oak?, lemon peel, spice/tart/funk finish. Body is light, low carbonation, velvety, tart bone dry finish. Overall, I have had the beer this was based on and did not care for it. This, however, is fantastic. Certainly my favorite beer of the event!

T - Sweet pilsner and grainy malts, Belgian yeast, coriander, lemon zest, Brett, some funk, grapefruit, citrus, pine, floral hops, some mild bitterness, some tartness. Pours bright gold into a tulip after limited gusher. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Lemon coriander and yeast aromas. Sharp with caramel upfront turning to bitter fruit skin and marshmallow in the lasting finish.

Draft at the Birch. A beautiful goblet of solid orange. This presents a nice tropical fruit aroma right up front, bursting with a character of tropical fruit -- pineapple and mandarin orange. There’s a subtle "wild side" to let you know this is a farmhouse saison, but it’s subtle enough that a fan of a fruity delight would not be distracted. Very fun and refreshing beer.
