English: In Denmark we have a lovely tradition for seasonal beer, and what you have here is certainly no exception. This is a never before seen collaboration between Ryan and the Beaster Bunny. A fluffy and precious Saison brewed on the beautiful island of Fanø on the west coast of Denmark. It may sound like a true fairytale, but don’t be fooled by it’s cute appearance.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, humle, gær.

Editor’s note: initially brewed by Fanø in Denmark

Evil Twin is pretty dumb to buy because it’s too expensive and it all sits on the shelf for a year before you can drink it. I have no idea how a brewery has any kind of good reputation left when 90% of the beer you see by them is dusty old bottles. Beer geeks, am I right? In any case, this is supposed to be a saison but to me it tastes more like an old IPA w/ a brett infection. It is fruity, slightly floral, too sweet, way too bitter and the carbonation is absolutely buck wild. Honestly, this is not horrible even after sitting on a shelf for god knows how long but neither is it good. The lesson to be learned is: price your beer appropriately or some guy you don’t care about will bitch, bitch, bitch.

aroma has a bit of barnyard funk, with notes of hay, and honey mouyhfeel is heavier than usual for this style, but i like it Flavor of bubblegum, funk, hay and a bit of booze and spice on the back side Overall its fairly decent.

Light yellow pour, small head with coaxing. Nose is yeast and spice. Bittersweet. Middle is creamy malt, cardamon, star anise, and a hint of black pepper. Finish is dry and yeasty. Starts slow, but comes on strong.

A 12 fl oz bottle with a date code of 056:15 meaning that it was bottled on 25th February 2015. It was poured into a Duvel tulip glass. It poured a slightly hazy orange colour with a one finger creamy white head that dissipated fairly quickly to thin layer of foam leaving spotty lacing. Aromas of Belgian yeastiness with honey, coriander, pear, lemon zest and a hint of peppery spice. Taste was similar to the aroma with Belgian yeast, honey, banana, brown sugar, coriander, pear, sour apple, dry biscuit and a hint of citrus lemon zest and pepper spice. Dry, medium bodied with high lively carbonation. This was a solid saison, but usually I prefer more sour and less bitter.

Hazy gold with lots of bubbling that holds a thin white head. It’s smells like a hefe with characteristic banana and also nice mineral content from the water. It’s not sharp as tends to be the trends with saison these days from craft breweries. Rather, the palate is smooth and agreeable. It finishes with minimal sweetness. Pretty nice.

355ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours hazy amber with big white head. Lots of yeasty goodness jumping out the glass. Exceptionally big flavoured with almost weisse-like vanilla esters alongside a sweet saison base. A bit in yr face but enjoyable.

bottle at my favourite baren i kronborggade. pale golden with a shortlived head; plenty of yeast showing in the nose, some light lemon and old books; somewhat grassy with a surprising surge of bitterness

Pours straw yellow, with a big foam head, great saison aroma, a really clean taste, and good spice and yeast finish. First class saison
