COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: In Denmark we have a lovely tradition for seasonal beer, and what you have here is certainly no exception. This is a never before seen collaboration between Ryan and the Beaster Bunny. A fluffy and precious Saison brewed on the beautiful island of Fanø on the west coast of Denmark. It may sound like a true fairytale, but don’t be fooled by it’s cute appearance.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, humle, gær.

Editor’s note: initially brewed by Fanø in Denmark

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2013 This is quite good. A moderately funky saison with a nice amount of carbonation. Picked up a 4-pack of bottles for around $12, to get a much better saison you’re probably gonna have to spend more dough than that!

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 20.06.2013, tap (2011 "vintage") @ Tørst:
Nice creamy longlasting head. Aroma is balanced, slightly fruity, dried fruits, citrus, banana, yeast, hay, citrus peel, grass. Taste is slightly dry fruity, citrus peel, grass, yeast, cardboard, hay, leafs, pine needles, alcohol, dried fruits. Medium bitterness and dry mouthfeel, a little high on carbonation. Fair enough, not really sure if I like this as vintage, probably over the top.

Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pours a bit hazy, dull yellow appearance with a nice, creamy white head. Somewhat spicy, light white pepper, lemon, tropical fruity aroma. Starts out fairly dry and finishes even more dry. Juicy, lemon, passionfruit, lightly tart, herbal hoppy flavor. Pretty good.

Pours a clear deep yellow gold with nice carbonation giving a persistent ring if not full head. Initial nose is nice saisony belgian-yeast like elements and first tastes fulfill this promise, but a little ways in to this it kind of fell apart. Finish became overwhelming citrus pith bitterness and even some occassional vinyl plastic notes. Expected better.

Bottle. Effervescent, hazy gold with a white head. Nicely malty nose of sugar cookie and crackers with rustic La Rulles-like Belgian yeast but unfortunately for me it seems excessively hoppy and the bitterness out of balance. Lots of lemon oil and tropical fruit phenols. Quite dry and bitter and astringent, very pithy bitterness of dried citrus fruit and overuse of noble hops.... soapy, floral, phenolic, tart, dry, a bit pasty and chalky in texture... and maybe some higher alcohols. Nicely rustic but the hop character gives it away as new world.

(bottle) hazy yellow colour with a small white head; aromas of sourness, hint of funk, later some bubble gum; balanced flavour with long medium bitter finish

Bottle at home. Pour is slightly hazy yellow in appearance with a big white head and great lacing. Lemon peel, musty, biscuity, bready, lightly grassy, doughy, a touch of vanilla, and clove in the aroma. Taste is yeasty, hay, straw, lightly floral, a touch of white pepper, somewhat musty, citrusy, and fresh cut grass with a light spicy bite on the backend. Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation. Easy drinking saison and I am pumped to see this available in 4-packs in Colorado now.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is yeasty, fruity and peppery with a nice minor funk. Flavor is fruity bubblegum with some fresh hops and a bit of tart citrus at the end. Finish is clean with a spicy pepper. This is a well made saison that I would put up against Tank 7 any day. I’m glad this brewer is putting their beers in 12oz bottles now b/c the bombers were a bit on the high side.
