English: In Denmark we have a lovely tradition for seasonal beer, and what you have here is certainly no exception. This is a never before seen collaboration between Ryan and the Beaster Bunny. A fluffy and precious Saison brewed on the beautiful island of Fanø on the west coast of Denmark. It may sound like a true fairytale, but don’t be fooled by it’s cute appearance.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, humle, gær.

Editor’s note: initially brewed by Fanø in Denmark

On draft in a snifter. Ryan and the Beaster Bunny pours a partly clear golden yellow with a thick frothy ivory head that lasts a long while. The aroma is Apple, citrus, green grape and bread. The flavor is green grape, Apple, bread and citrus. Overall this is a pretty solid brew.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - hazy golden with a nice lacy head. Nose - tangy pineapple. Slight funk. Very delicate spice. Taste - light zingy yeasty pineapple. Palate - light to medium bodied with a lean tight texture in the middle section and a dry tangy finish. Overall - it’s a saison which is a style I like a lot. It doesn’t go beyond that but it’s good.

Leicht trübe goldgelbe Farbe, viel Kohlensäure, ordentliche weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Kräutern, etwas Hefe, sehr malzig. Geschmack sehr malzig, reife Früchte, leicht hopfig, Kräuter, im Abgang bitter würzig.

Golden colour with a light hue and a frothy large slowly fading white head, good lacings. Noses of fruity esthers with citrus and peach notes with some earthy herbal barnyard aromas. Effervescent, with a light slickness and a medium body. Light fruity esther sweetness comes up first which then develops some acidity and a well structured coherent malt-hop flavour note with a light bitterness and a light astringent hit. Overall harmonically balanced with a medium lasting finish.

Bottle from I-forget-where.

I came to this without particularly high hopes, but I always like trying new saisons. I suppose it’s been sitting on the store shelves for nearly a year, but I guess in this case that’s let the brett develop. It pours a cloudy maize into a Duvel tulip, launching a vast foamy white head. The aroma is really, really nice, Dupont-esque but with brett and some peppercorn. It manages to bring dust and straw up front with floral and herbal elements later on. Really a nice smelling beer. The flavor is no let down either. It’s substantially more bitter than expected, abundant hops pushing some citrus peel and the brett drying it out completely. Lemon and leather. More hop oil late than seems quite right for the style. Only the smallest hints of sweetness through the late middle, very little in the way of banana esters. Abundant, even explosive carbonation in the mouth. I like this beer. There’s no over-the-top magic here, but it’s got all the right elements for the type of saison I love to drink.

tl;dr summary: Dry, hoppy brett-driven saison.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a Tulip. My Saison # 50! Hazy golden colour with a big, fluffy white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, yeasts, floral hops, light caramel malts, spices and sweet fruits - apricot. Taste is light sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a lively, rather fine carbonation. Finishes dry and fruity with grasses and yeasts. Lovely Saison, has the same drinkability as Duvel. Very good!

Bouteille 33cl, no BB.
