COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: In Denmark we have a lovely tradition for seasonal beer, and what you have here is certainly no exception. This is a never before seen collaboration between Ryan and the Beaster Bunny. A fluffy and precious Saison brewed on the beautiful island of Fanø on the west coast of Denmark. It may sound like a true fairytale, but don’t be fooled by it’s cute appearance.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, humle, gær.

Editor’s note: initially brewed by Fanø in Denmark

Bottle from Fonefan, thanks! Pours a huge head. Orange blonde color. Floral aroma with confit citrusfruit. Malty sweet flavor with floral hops. Firmly hopped. Dried citrusfruit. Hint of alcohol. Good beer!

Bottle: Golden-pear color with a slight chill haze throughout. Foamy white head on top relaxes to a semi-chunky collar pretty hastily. Aromas of slight earthy spiciness, white pepper, Belgian yeast, faint lemon spritz, & a very slight, yet unobtrusive hint of phenols. Moderately dirty yeast esters. Flavor is quite zesty up front... Slightly spicy Belgian yeast, mild clove, earth, a hint of bubblegum, cotton, grain, straw, & a nice, semisweet lemon finish that entwines with the earthy yeast esters. Timid bitterness, somewhat dry finish. Decent.

Keg at the Kings Arms, London. It pours a hazy golden color with a large white head. Aroma is grassy, grainy, with notes of citrus peel, violets, apricots, hay and spices. Taste is citrusy, yeasty, lightly funky, with notes of acidic lemon juice, hay, grains, grass, apricots, black pepper. Finishes floral and dry. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, good saison

Draught @ BBB. Pours hazy deep yellow with a creamy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is slightly phenolic and tiny fruity with crackers, dry soil, hay, white pepper corns, allspice, dry wood, grape skins and lemon zest. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter and phenolic with crackers, kumquats, dry soil, hay, sheet metal, rubber, white pepper corns, grapefruit rinds and leon zest. Mouthfeel is tiny dry, astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter and phenolic with crackers, hay, dry soil, sheet metal, rubber, orange zest and hints of gastric acid. Very harsh…

Enjoyed this beer. Rainy night in Amsterdam. It warmed me up. Great spicey sour taste.

Pretty plain smelling/looking beer. This has a strangely strong dry finish, but other than that it’s pretty indeterminate. Nothing really going on, even for a saison. Forgettable.

GIJOE (674) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - NOV 1, 2014
Pours a slightly orangey amber color with a thick, foamy head. Copious lacing. Nose is somewhat apple-cider-like. Notes of citrus and apricot. Taste is nicely balanced. Grapefruity bitterness on a rich, malty backbone. Full body; lively carbonation. Very nice brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From Craftissimo. Cloudy translucent straw with slight grey/green tinge and very creamy white head. Huge thick sudsy lacing. Smells of yeast (more cedar and earthy and floral than barnyard), lots of fresh fruit (peach, apricot, apple, lime), some light peppery phenols. Really nice interesting aroma. Tastes yeasty, spicy, lots of citrus, quite sweet with a sour Brett flavour. Body is medium, smooth, slick. Very solid saison.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Hazy yellow pour with dense head. Aroma is interesting - lemon, pepper, peach, yeasty. Taste is saison-y. With more brightness - peach and peppery spice. Rounded out by malty (?) sweetness. Bubbly smoothness. Bitter finish. Good saison - would probably be good with lamb or other earthy foods.

On tap @ 10 East - I was really digging this one on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Honey aroma, crisp apples, grass clippings, Belgian-y esters with just a slight tangyness to it. Spice/yeast content was well balanced, light, clean bitterness from beginning to end with a refreshing grassy bitterness to enjoy. I’m usually not a huge fan of saisons but this was easy to enjoy.
