Bottle. Creamy and foamy darker tan head with some big bubbles.; mahogany nearly black body. Lots of roast and some acrid smoke in the aroma with some light chocolate and coffee. Really lots of savory characteristics with dry nuts, dark chocolate, lots of roast and peatiness. Medium to thicker body that’s viscous with tiny carbonation bubbles.

6/4/11. Bottle. Opaque black pour with a nice brown head that sticks and laces a ton. Fairly light aroma of milk and dark chocolates with a touch of coffee and alcohol. Luxurious, smooth chocolate flavor loaded with sweet vanilla followed by lingering dry roastiness. Creamy, nice mouthfeel. Nice!

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a opaque thick black color with small to medium coffee colored head. Impressive random lacing streaks left on my snifter. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, tons of floral notes from the hops, toffee, vanilla, and slight aroma of soft dook. Taste is filled with coffee, smoekd grains. heavy roasted malt, fidge, vanilla bean, brown sugar, and piney rez’d out hops. Mouthfeel is smooth with a dry bitter finish. Very good balanced stout. Cheers.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line :
With vanilla at its core, this dessert Imperial Stout rallies roasted malt, blackberry jam and alcohol heat, sculpting a fine sipper for sweet teeth.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam covers the blackness with dark brown edges.
-Vanilla is also an important part of the enduring finish.
-The silky, rich body is quite pleasant, avoiding excessive heaviness.
-Crunchy cereals appear in the nose.
-Roasted malts combine with overshadowed wooden hops to provide levelled bitterness.
Bottle. Thx Alex!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 9/20
Brown foam that quickly dissapears. Dark red-black color. Dark chocolate aroma with some vanilla and some fruit. The taste is quite harsh with much burnt malts and much dark chocolate. Big body that remids of drinking chocolate liquire with its sweetness.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
0.65l bottle @ Baran, Bergen shared with RuneStumo. Pours a pitch black body with a long lasting chocolate head. Aroma is quite sweet and toffee dominating with coffee, dark caramel, lots and lots of vanilla, oak, salty soy sauce tones and biscuits. Really nice. Medium-bodied, has a surprisingly thin and almost watery mouthfeeling and average carbonation. The first thing that hits me are burned oreo crackers! Strange stuff.. Continues with some salty tones, cold coffee, lots and lots of mocha and chocolate, licorice and it ends really really dry. Almost unnaturally dry! Fantastic flavor vise, and perhaps a bit disappointing on the body and mouthfeeling.

Draft at the Birch. Looks like an espresso, frothy and black. Drinks with a decidedly chocolate twist, sweet and bitter at the same time. Winner. (#4156, 7/1/2011)
