English: This stout looks like soft dookie and some will say it smells and tastes like it too. If you like a thick, creamy and utterly vanillalicious stout you’ll like this one. If you don’t, get yourself something else instead.

Smells like dark chocolate, coffee and a touch of alcohol. Taste is pretty much the same.... as avertised. Theres a really nice creamy mouthfeel, with some tingly carbonation. Palate is the best part of this beer for sure. Great typical imperial stout.

Amazing! Bottle. Thick brown foam on dark beer. Light dusty dry alt aroma. Great chocolate stout. Taste of coffee and vanilla with a nice bitterness.

Draught at The Beer Hall... Waterloo, IA.

The aroma is smoky and ashy with lots of chocolate. The kicker is the nice almond character that shows up as it warms.

The flavor is very roasty, lightly sweet, and overwhelmingly chocolaty. The beer is nicely bitter all around with a good hop character. It’s extreme in almost all it’s elements, yet somehow balanced. This is certainly not the overly sweet imperial stout I expected it to be.

The beer is big on the palate and aided in mouthfeel by it’s low carbonation.

Black colour and fair light brown head, mostly diminishing. The aroma is very sweet, delivers mostly milk chocolate, then some mild coffee, cookie and dark malts. In the mouth is more balanced, again intense milk chocolate and coffee, with a light bitter/sweet flavor in the end. Creamy texture leaves a long flavor duration. Maybe for summer it’s a bit too ’warming’.

RBAG Summer Session 2012. Pours black with a fairly large mocha head that slowly fades leaving some lace. Aroma is sweet chocolate, vanilla, coffee, molasses, and a small amount of hops. Taste is slightly bitter with hints of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla.

RBBSG 2012 Left-over // thx to Benzai I assume but not sure // terrible name. ugly cover, seen this one around but yeah, doesn’t appeal to my uppity class // dark brown with a mocha head // sweet mocha, candy, chocolate, lots of milk chocolate, very candy / cake like, bitter hop and roast finish // needs to be a bit dookier, dear lord. I said it // I mean, smoother, creamier // make it stop

Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Rather lively, had to open carefully. Opaque, almost black, pours big, thick, Creamy brown head with fine bubbles that persists well. Med-high carbonation. Aroma is thick, with rich Dark chocolate & cocoa, vanilla, caramel, some licorice, some rich alcohol (dark, woody rum) and bits of roast & coffee - A tribute to sweet, dark malts. Taste - Med sweetness, milky texture, loads of rich, dark chocolate, soft vanilla (like chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream), quite a bit of soy & salty licorice and some pineyness. Also a surprising bit of tanginess present throughout; noticeable hops (some fruity hop aroma/tastes mixed in) and some slight roasty, ashiness. Chocolate sauce sweetness aftertaste on the front of the tongue and some drier, ashy roast notes and spiciness left too, but sweetness dominates. Body is medium heavy, milky, smooth/soft. Very well done; vanilla is at a good level, not too overbearing, and not too sweet either. Rich, smooth, drinkable and the alcohol is brilliantly hidden. Lovely.
