COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: This stout looks like soft dookie and some will say it smells and tastes like it too. If you like a thick, creamy and utterly vanillalicious stout you’ll like this one. If you don’t, get yourself something else instead.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar, April 2011. Black with a small tan head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and vanilla. The taste was rather sweet but nicely balanced between the vanilla and roasted malt and the bitter chocolate. I also liked the taste of Espresso. A very drinkable Imperial Stout with a nice body.

Bottle. Black with a tanned head. Smells of toffee, vanilla, some coffee. Taste is too much vanilla for my taste. My friends enjoyed this vanilla taste alot more than i did. Finish is not very bitter

Black base with a tan head. Big tan head with nice painted on lacing. Nice vanilla aroma with some malt backing it up. Bit of coffee and chocolate as well. Big vanilla taste in the front with a nice bitter burnt flavor in the back. A nice warming from the alcohol. A bit of a bite on the front that seems to be from the roasted grains. Like a coffee bite. Some bitterness on the back. Nicely balanced and it hides the ABV nicely.

In short: Another decent sweet uber-sweet roasted stout.
How: Bottle 500ml. Consumed fresh about 3 months after first bottle rating.
The look: Black body topped by a small tan head
In long: Nose is roasted with typical notes of chocolate, liquorice and vanilla. Taste is dominated by the sweetness, a whole lot of sweet dark malts, chocolate chips, quite a bit of vanilla, fudge. A LOT of residual sugars in this one. No fruitiness, no hops presence, not much complexity, this is just another uber-sweet and very simple imperial stout like so many others in USA. At least this one wasn’t boozy so it was still a decent beer. Anyway, after that beer, we went out and had a bunch more beer. The day after my girlfriend told me I looked like shit. That’s really insulting, considering all the efforts I put in when I dress and groom myself trying to go for a urine look.

Bottle at the Ginger Man during their Hopfenstark event. Pours a deep jet black with a thin tan head. Vanilla, bourbon, chocolate and roast, chewy. Vanilla and Charleston Chew notes. Chewy chocolate, brownies, cupcakes drenched in ganache. Chocolate and long cocoa and roast. Finishes with more chocolate and smooth roasty tannins. Absolutely amazing.

Bottle pour, thanks bewing12p. Soft DK, american label. Black pour with tan head. Sweet vanilla and chocolate flavors, with some roasted coffee hints. Silky body. Abv, not even noticed, thought it was a sweet stout.

500 ml bottle courtesy of Doodler (thanks Scott!) poured a translucent dark brown nearly black with a lasting brown head. Aromas of coffee, vanilla, bitter chocolate, light roastiness and a hint of licorice. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla, light coffee and light roastiness with a smooth warming lingering milk chocolate finish.

Tap @ Gastropub Nordic, Tampere.
Pours a pitch black colour with a beige, coffee-like creamy head. Aroma of sweet roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Flavour of roasted malts, milk coffee, dark chocolate and salty licorice. Full bodied with a dry, creamy mouthfeel. Milk coffee and chocolate on the finish. Very smooth Imperial Stout with loads of flavour.

Black with a big brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, vanilla and a little alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Dry and bitter finish. Smooth and soft. The vanilla works well because it doesn’t dominate. Very nice. 310311
