Pitch black with a small head. Aroma has strong alcohol notes. Thereís lots of chocolate, dried dark fruits, mostly plums and raisins. Also some figs. Overall this stout is strong on the fruit esters side. Also some orange peel. Moutheel is oily and medium thick. Taste is colcacola like with lots of dark chocolate. The finish has a bitter cocoa like notes. Earthy on the end. Some little coffee acidity on the end too. Good one but since there are so many stouts to compare it with ...itís nothing special.

Not a big fan of this, as I get more sweetness than I like. Has some thickness but still tastes fairly strong, this was not close to the high rating it has.

Keg at CBC Craft #100. Opaque very dark brown beer. Nose is very sweet sugary toffee, salty Marmite, yeast extract, brown sugar, roasted malt, vanilla, creme caramel, dark fruit, chocolate. On the taste its really dominated by the salty Marmite/yeast extract flavour, which I am really not a fan of. Mouthfeel is thick and oily, black treacle sweetness with savoury molasses or Marmite.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Keg at CBC Clerkenwell.
It pours near black, thick, with a nice brown head. Nose of plum and alcohol, with some chocolate, liquorice and some smokiness. It feels rich and creamy, with pleasant carbonation. Taste of plums and plum wine, some coffee and chocolate and a very pleasant, mild smokiness. A really great imperial stout! I want another one, as long as I can get home.

1/3 at Brewdog Camden. Pours inky black. Viscous but in a good way. Coffee, cocoa, vanilla, bit if smoke on the nose. Thatís mirrored in the taste. The abv gives it clout. A fantastic after dinner beer, to be savoured in front of a fire with a slab of cheese. Or just as a treat after a crap day. Lovely.

Pours black with thick dark brown head. A strong coffee and chocolate malt aroma. A very strong coffee taste with grains and malts. The coffee flavor is very overpowering with some chocolate and vanilla. A dry but sweet malt aftertaste.

Bottle @ Budapest, Only good Beer Pub // Nicely balanced for a trendy craft beer, but strangely lacking in complexity for something so strong.
