4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a pitch black color with a frothy tan head. Aroma is very sweet with notes of chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt and some brown sugar. The flavor is of vanilla and chocolate, roasted malt, brown sugar, roasted malt, liqourice and some sweet maltiness. The body is full with a thick and creamy mouthfeel. Overall a fantastic Imperial Stout brewed with vanilla that reminds me a little of Southern Tier Choklat.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: SEP 16, 2011 (Bottle) Pours black with a pale brown head. The aroma holds vanilla and chocolate ice-cream up front. Undertones of brown sugar, roasted/salty nuts, salt liquorice, violet candy, alcohol and more burned, coffee-like roast. Clear citrusy hoppy on the nose. The flavor is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with some tiny acidic notes from the hops. Cocoa powder, coffee, citrus, vanilla, salt liquorice, violet candy, roasted nuts, resin and brown sugar. The mouthfeel is super soft, smooth, oily and fat with a light carbonation. Burned malt, hops and peppery alcohol on the finish. Medium to full bodied. Well balanced and drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep chocolatey aroma. Black in color with a solid tan head. Cocoa and an alcohol strength...arguably too strong? Not to me! A great stout!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle that I picked up from Beer Merchants consumed 27.12.10 Pours black with a rim of light beige bubbles. Soft and creamy at first with a touch of vegtable in the mouth, some custard (vanilla maybe?) and roast coffee. I think that I can taste the vanilla beans now, good beer, really good beer, the Evil Twin did good! A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.5

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2010 Bottled 50cl. Very impressive aroma which is reminiscent of vanilla, roasted malt, coffee and great chocolate. Full bodied. Complex and extremely delicious. Dangerously drinkable. I didn’t take any notes but this is surely a fantastic beer and deserves the score.
