3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle@Rojo’s place. Thanks for sharing!
Appearance: Pitch black with a beige head.
Aroma: Chocolate, Vanilla, Hint of coffee, Roasted malts.
Taste: Bitter chocolate, Vanilla, Roasted Malts, Hint of coffee.
Palate: High bitterness with a pleasant aftertaste of vanilla. Medium carbonation.
I wish this would have been made into a dessert-stout instead. Ie, less hops and a bit more body. Still, an interesting brew and it’ll probably suit my palate a bit better after aging it for a year.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2014 pours a pure black with a really good looking brown head. Aromas of liquorice, vanilla, chocolate, malts, some coffee, chocolate cake, fudge and generally roasted. Tastes the same along with a little amount of smokeyness and some hops in the end. Looking forward to other beers from this brewery

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours pitch black with a big, creamy greyish-brown head. Nice lacing. Sweet aroma; in the vicinity of the glass, there are notes which remind me of a soda ice. In the glass, there’s a tart roasted note. Vanilla appear as it warms, but it’s not overwhelming (which is probably good). Faint notes of chocolate as well. Flavour is roasted with a whiff of vanilla and a fair amount of bitter to sweet liquorice. Finish is sweet liquorice; almost cloying but pulls through (although more than one bottle if this might prove too much). Has a creamy feel to it as well. Lingering dry, slightly tart and medium bitter roasted notes. 14.11.10.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer pours of course opaque black and has a really nice and big khaki brown head. The aroma has lots of liqourice, chocolate, hints of coffee, vanilla and a small smoky note along with a decent amount of dark caramel maltiness. Has a bottom-fermented touch in the aroma. The taste has a lot of coffee, chocolate, cappuccino, vanilla, a milky smoothness. Coffee and hop bitterness in the aftertaste along with smooth vanilla notes. Not very complex, but very easily drinkable and just plain good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, courtesy of Phredrik. Opaque, black pour, lovely dark brown head. Aroma has lots of roast, some smoke, rope, liquorice, vanilla, dark berries, rope and some burnt sugar and caramel. Taste has a little roast as well, some vanilla and some yeast as well. Also liquorice and strong coffee. Fairly strong bitterness, yet rather fresh from a not too modest hop-profile. A strong and in-your-face type beer; dookielicious!
