English: This stout looks like soft dookie and some will say it smells and tastes like it too. If you like a thick, creamy and utterly vanillalicious stout youíll like this one. If you donít, get yourself something else instead.

Draft at RnH with Andrew, Streets, and Kyle. Dark pour with nice creamy slightly carbonated off white head. Aroma is roasted malts, vanilla. Mouthfeel is nice, creamy with notes of vanilla, sweet malts, roast, slight coffee flavor and chocolate.

Sampled at RnH. Had this directly after Yin. This although more alcohol seemed less aggressive than Yin... Had a sweet and creamy malty flavor, absolutely loaded with vanilla. Lactic and delicious!

Draught at RnH. Black with a small tan head, to a thin ring before long. Roast, char, and chocolate up front in the flavor with some meaty soy behind. Flavor does t show much vanilla til 1/2 way through, but it doesnít really play with the chocolate, rather itís more toasty burnt vanilla. Bitterness peaked at a 4 with a little pine and alcohol, otherwise burnt roast vanilla in the semi-dry finish. Full body with low prickly carbonation. Thought this was going to more of a dessert beer, but it was just a meh burnt roasty RIS base. 20 minutes laterthe nose opened up to show some nice floral pine hops, and the overall taste seemed less burnt and richer. It goes from a 3.1 to a 3.4. Also a better head roused with better retention once warmed.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar, April 2011. Black with a small tan head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and vanilla. The taste was rather sweet but nicely balanced between the vanilla and roasted malt and the bitter chocolate. I also liked the taste of Espresso. A very drinkable Imperial Stout with a nice body.

Bottle. Black with a tanned head. Smells of toffee, vanilla, some coffee. Taste is too much vanilla for my taste. My friends enjoyed this vanilla taste alot more than i did. Finish is not very bitter

Black base with a tan head. Big tan head with nice painted on lacing. Nice vanilla aroma with some malt backing it up. Bit of coffee and chocolate as well. Big vanilla taste in the front with a nice bitter burnt flavor in the back. A nice warming from the alcohol. A bit of a bite on the front that seems to be from the roasted grains. Like a coffee bite. Some bitterness on the back. Nicely balanced and it hides the ABV nicely.

In short: Another decent sweet uber-sweet roasted stout.
How: Bottle 500ml. Consumed fresh about 3 months after first bottle rating.
The look: Black body topped by a small tan head
In long: Nose is roasted with typical notes of chocolate, liquorice and vanilla. Taste is dominated by the sweetness, a whole lot of sweet dark malts, chocolate chips, quite a bit of vanilla, fudge. A LOT of residual sugars in this one. No fruitiness, no hops presence, not much complexity, this is just another uber-sweet and very simple imperial stout like so many others in USA. At least this one wasnít boozy so it was still a decent beer. Anyway, after that beer, we went out and had a bunch more beer. The day after my girlfriend told me I looked like shit. Thatís really insulting, considering all the efforts I put in when I dress and groom myself trying to go for a urine look.

Bottle at the Ginger Man during their Hopfenstark event. Pours a deep jet black with a thin tan head. Vanilla, bourbon, chocolate and roast, chewy. Vanilla and Charleston Chew notes. Chewy chocolate, brownies, cupcakes drenched in ganache. Chocolate and long cocoa and roast. Finishes with more chocolate and smooth roasty tannins. Absolutely amazing.
