English: This stout looks like soft dookie and some will say it smells and tastes like it too. If you like a thick, creamy and utterly vanillalicious stout youíll like this one. If you donít, get yourself something else instead.

Sample at the Ale Wine & Spirits Evil Twin tasting on 05/19/2011. Pours dark brownish-black with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, roasted malt and chocolate. Medium, smooth body with flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla, sweet malt and a bit of tart fruit. The finish is roasted malt and chocolate and does not linger long. Overall pretty tasty, would have enjoyed more if it were richer though.

The name made me chuckle. After that, thereís not that much going on with this beer. The vanilla is nowhere to be found, but the regular stout flavors that do appear are pleasing enough-- very roasty, with a strong coffee finish, and no trace of the alcohol anywhere. But, third-grade humor aside, this Imperial Stout lacks character, and in a style jam-packed with world class beers, a decent Impy Stout gets lost in the shuffle.

Dark pour with a thin beige head. Aroma is vanilla, roast and chocolate. Thick & creamy body viscous but not the most viscous RIS ive seen. Didnt pick up much dookie, but got lots of chocolate and vanilla. I thought for sure it would be cloying like a lot of the vanilla infused imperial stouts out there but not this one. Decent but I dont expect to revisit it considering the $13 price tag

500. Got the "DK" on the label. Pours an opaque jet black with a dense and creamy burnt tan head that doesnít stick around for too awfully long. Crazy big roasty sweet nose, showing roasted grain along with a full-on Iím-measuring-cookie-ingredients blast of vanilla. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Definitely not goopy or cloying or sluggish. Roast, coffee, chocolate, and vanilla on the mid palate. Mostly itís just a surprising amalgam of vanilla over the top of a well-made, fairly conventional impie. Very appealing. Long roasty sweet finish. Hides the alcohol fairly well, considering. Nice stuff.

Cloying sweet cookie. Last beer of the night, bottle shared with George at The Ginger Man NYC. Oatmeal cookie aroma along with the roast coffee, lots of sugar dust. Black and lacey.Carbonation is right there. Average mouthfeel. Chocolate finish and aftertaste.

Tap at Cardinal. Black with a light brown, creamy, centimeter head leaving excellent lacing. Chocolate, toffee and wood on the nose. Sweet, roasted and bitter with notes of chocolate, vanilla and an alcoholic warmth. Full bodied. Gentle carbonation. Long roasted, sweet and bitter finish leaving a dry mouth.

On tap at Belmont Station. Pours dark brown with a decent tan head and a vanilla aroma. There is a bitter chocolate and vanilla flavor with a thick dry finish. A bit smoky too.

Black as night. Aroma has a lot of licorice and roast as well as some earthy/spicy hoppiness. A lot of chewy richness and some sticky resiny bitterness. A little bit of blackberry fruitiness - yeast seems fairly estery and there may be a bit of oatmeal in here as well. Soft palate and a little bit of lingering black pepper. Nice And quite unique in a category that I didnít think could surprise me anymore.
