English: This stout looks like soft dookie and some will say it smells and tastes like it too. If you like a thick, creamy and utterly vanillalicious stout you’ll like this one. If you don’t, get yourself something else instead.

Purchased at systembolaget in Uppsala sometime in the middle of June, 2011. Overall, this is a very flavorful stout and one that I will certainly buy again. Pours with a deep, dark brown color and a medium-sized beige head. The lacing is decent, but I’ve seen far better. The aroma is powerful: vanilla, dark chocolate, burnt malts and a hint of alcohol. It smells like a desert in a bottle. The mouth feel is creamy, although less so than expected. The is taste is bitter sweet: vanilla galore, dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans and booze. Wonderful with desert.

50 cl bottle from systembolaget bs. Pours black with nice head. Sweet, roasty aroma with nice taste of coffee. Balanced with sweet chocolaty aftertaste.

Bottle. The look is black in color, dark, and has a tan head. The smell is licorice, malt, prunes, roast, raisin, soft, and good. The taste is fruits, malts, alcohol, dark dried fruits, cocoa, and cake.

Pours pitch black with a solid tan head. Smells like black licorice and cocoa powder. Taste is chocolate, hints of licorice, and a touch of booze. Full-bodied with smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Evil Twin Soft Dookie finishes with a hint of cocoa bittersweetness.

Bottle as Soft DK, BB 2015. Thinnish black pour into a snifter. Aroma - mostly metallic, yeasty, some caramel and coffee. Body is thin for the style, moderate carbonation. Taste has some vanilla, ash, cough medicine, chocolate sauce, metallic. Pretty average imperial stout in my opinion. This style is all about big flavours and a big smooth body, and this doesn’t deliver on either of those basic elements. When you spend £10 on a bottle of beer, you’re entitled to expect better than this.

Bomber. Gift from Dfearnley. Thanks, Derek! Black with persistent tan lace. Chocolate, black berries, rubber, a bit too phenolic. Dry, woody, coffee, dark chocolate, with berries. A bit pedestrian. Hides alcohol better. Quite well carbonated. A rather too simple IS.

12/12/10/10/11/12

16.9 oz bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Fruity sweet notes start this one out; mostly tropical fruit strikes me - pineapple and mango - although there’s also some dark berry notes (I’m thinking strawberry maybe?). Chocolate is present as well with some vanilla. Digging a bit deeper some doughy and mildewy smells come through with raisin and alcohol. The dark red-brown (cola-esque) colored beer is topped by a dark tan soapy head which reduces to a thin film with some spotty, granular-like lacing along the glass on the way down. It’s a medium-heavy sweetness with some bitter, acidic notes. Within the mouth, it has a unique grainy feel coming from some ashy tones. The medium bodied beer is sticky and mostly flat. At the finish, there’s an earthy, dirt-like taste that seems to jump out of nowhere, but quickly gives way to a combination of ash, chocolate cake, and alcohol which coat the mouth fairly strong at first, but dissipates to a more mild coating fairly quickly. After awhile, the aftertaste turns to a dirt and ash combination - maybe a nice beer to enjoy with a good cigar?

Black with creamy mocha head. Aroma very roasty, espresso, bitter chocolate, ash, Taste sweet, creamy, chocolate at first, and then rich burnt toffee, roast, espresso beans, some smoke, some ash, soy sauce, and more bitter chocolate in the palate. Very nice.
