3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Pours opaque black cola brown with good light tan head and lace. Average hop aromas, malt overshadowed by a big vanilla bean scent, come oaky, choc, coffee, roasty burnt toffee notes are there. Earthen, yeast aromas are there. Body a touch thinner than expected, the roasty notes so acrid, gives the illusion of thinning. Also yeast character prominent. the vanilla continuing through over the top of the malt backbone. A touch boozy also, finishes moderately bitter, acrid, light-moderately sweet. The acrid roastiness and sweetness lingering on.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big aroma of vanilla, cocoa, brown sugar, some booze and a strange metallic scent. Great looking thick black beer with a brown head of foam that leaves tons of lacing. Tastes more roasty than I would have imagined, the sweetness balances this out. Hints of brown sugar with a booze burn. Palate is average, judging by its looks I thought it would have been thicker. Pretty good, I will be aging a few bottles of this.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Labeled as "Soft DK". Super thick & viscous black pour. Oily, black, & topped with a velvety, deep-tan head. Aroma of moderate chocolate, cookie dough, faint roast, mild milky sweetness, vanilla, perhaps some brown sugar. Flavor has lots of brown sugar, bakerís chocolate, roasted malt, & even a bit of coffee. Lighter undertones of vanilla, anise, & a very moderate fudge element. Mouth feel is a bit thinner than the thick looking pour would indicate. Overall, a pretty nice imperial stout.

4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours nice with a tight beige head that sticks for a very long time. Nose is of coca cola and something vegetal, a bit odd.
Mouthfeel is very thick. In contrast to the head it is very low carbonated.
What lacks on the nose delivers on the palate.
Lots of dark fruits, obvious salmiak. Very balanced. Very enjoyable.
