3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Enjoyed at Stubby's on tap in Milwaukee. Smell is of bourbon and mild chocolate. The taste is also bourbon and chocolate with come coffee and caramel. It has a medium palate and a mild dryness on the finish. It is a big beer that manages to be very easy drinking.

Bottle. Pours a dark black color with a loose foamy java head. Nose is malt, coffee and dark licorice. Taste is alcohol up front with bittersweet chocolate notes. Finishes on the same tasting notes with a moderate lingering. A very solid tasteful porter.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This was a nice beer with a good aroma, good dark color, small head, a nice mouth-feel, modestly complex and malty with a bit of sweetness.
This beer would have been simply killer if it would have been barrel aged in bourbon barrels for a year. Alas, the Europeans are very slow to catch on and it may be a decade or never for them to understand that barrel aging makes better beer. That’s why the brewers in the USA are the best. They don’t stop with "good enough" because capitalism demands excellence or you go out of business. Europeans due to their socialistic ways will always brew decent beer but it will never compare with the innovation we have here in the USA.

Brown-black color. Smells ok, taste is a bit sour. Yep, this is inadvertently sour. All sorts of fail.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle of 330 ml. With certain aroma of coffee and sweet notes. Foam very shallow and of short duration. The palate is somewhat complicated starting with a sweetness turns to bitterness that persists and increases the more beer tempers. With a medium body makes me end excessive alcohol aftertaste.

0.33 l bottle, thanks hanniku! Almost black dark reddish brown color. Sweet aromas of dark sugar, dark fruits, chocolate, cocoa and rum. Taste of cocoa, chocolate, oak, nuts, charcoal and licorice. Full body, warming and slightly woody palate. Not a bad sipping beer.

Poured dark with a large tan head. There is a mild coffee smell to this beer. There is a strong hop and dark malt presence.
