COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smoked pilsner. I need to know what kind of beer cowboys drink, as I have recently become one. I want to be the best cowboy I can be, and I think drinking the correct beer is important. I already have a cowboy hat and a nice big shiny buckle.

12oz bottle pours a clear golden/orange with a small off-white head. Aroma of citrus and fruity hops, with caramel malt. Taste is heavy on smoke, but not unprintable, some yeast and caramel on the finish.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs), with a light note of ashes/smoke. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Very simple aroma, and the smoke itself is rather ashy, but the balance is decent for quaffing. Just kinda seems like a checkbox for a smoked beer rather than something that a lot of thought and effort went into...uninspiring and plain, but certainly drinkable and free from flaws.

Excalibur123 (114) - Soria, SPAIN - JUL 18, 2014
