Smoked pilsner. I need to know what kind of beer cowboys drink, as I have recently become one. I want to be the best cowboy I can be, and I think drinking the correct beer is important. I already have a cowboy hat and a nice big shiny buckle.

Pours out a cloudy, light golden color with a small white head. Aroma is of burnt wood, complex woodsy sweetness, smoked BBQ, light grains. Taste is smoked BBQ, sweet wood, light bitterness, some grains, more sweet, but delicate smoke. this is really tasty.

Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a thin persistent white head. Aroma is hoppy with some citrus, mainly grapefruit. Slight smoke but not much. On the flavor there is more smoke and some maltiness. Very light bodied and thin. Drinkable but nothing special.

Hazy blond color with creamy head. Lightly smoke and cereal character, dry and a bit metallic. Strong bitterness.
Must try againÖ

Aroma: Kinda reminds me of the lighter smoke profile found in Schlenkerla Eiche- Dry, oaky smoke, light ointment with a little lemongrass. Appearance: Light, unfiltered copper pour with a small white head that fades into a skin. Flavor: Dry smoked malts up front with a little lemon; lemon comes out a bit more towards the finish to quench the dryness, but eventually terminates in a lightly bitter manner. Palate: Light body, sticky texture, very soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Interesting stuff; the leaner smoked profile makes this perhaps an ideal beer to introduce smoked beers. Still, the enthusiast can appreciate it as well.

Looks like an artisanal pilsner, smells like thereís a little smoke there, and in the flavor thereís something going on but it isnít pronounced enough to really say "smoke". Light sausage flavor. Most of the bottle was contributed to a batch of chili, and I think thatís the appropriate result here. Bottle.

Bottle. Pours clear yellow with a small creamy white head that quickly diminishes to a thin ring and leaves some lacing. Pilsner hops in the aroma, some pine, bubblegum?! but no smoke. Lightly bitter, medium body, fine bubbles in a lively carbo, creamy texture and a smooth, lingering lightly bitter finish. Whereís the smoke?

According to FBO, this has a BB date of 239 14 which is 08/27/2014 (!!). Drank on 02/07/15 Hopefully Iím wrong because this shit is expensive. A: Dark hazy gold with a small but well retained white head. Good lacing. Lazy carbonation and visible sediment. S: Earthy floral hops on the nose. Subtle hints of smoke and stale white bread. T: Hoppy and sort of sour. Slightly more noticeable smokiness in the taste is well incorporated. Well balance overall, finishing bitter. The hops are pleasantly prominent. M: Medium bodied with a wet oily medium length finish. Below average but appropriate level of carbonation felt. O: Took a while to decide but I do like this. Well executed smoked pilsner. Probably will not purchase again though simply because itís probably not good enough to justify the price or $12/4 pack (stupid-ass 4 packs). Recommended however.

12 oz. on tap at Alewife. Lightly foggy amber with a small ring of cream. Mild nose of honey, wheat and smoke. Taste is more of the same with some dry grass on the finish. Near-medium body has a nice balance and a fairly smooth medium level of carbonation. Not much of a smoked, but pretty decent as a pilsner.
