COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is made in collaboration with Micah Melton The Aviary and is a modest attempt to imitate The ‘Blueberry’ cocktail as it is served in The Porthole at The Aviary, Chicago. The Porthole is an equally genius and gorgeous infusion vessel designed by Martin Kastner of Crucial Detail design studio. It can be used to create striking cocktails or any other type of infusion - maybe even beer.

Bomber. Read interestingly enough that it was worth a shot. Lots of general sweet malts up front, Belgiany yeasts everywhere, hints of booze singe throughout, with a essence of blueberries you can taste, but not like it was freshly squeezed into the brew or anything. Bits of lemon and citrus as well. Again, interesting, but wouldn’t pay $11 for the bottle again. Sounds like it’s much better on tap from the ratings.

Pours a hazy amber with a rather thick white head. Aroma has firm yeasty and melon notes, quite inviting. Flavor delights with fruity, melon, yeast, and subtle malty notes. Texture is quite firm and has some good fizz. An interesting concoction worthy of at least a taste. Or several. Or a glass.

Pours bright orange amber into a tulip. White head with good retention recedes to hug rim. Sweet and sour fruit aromas. Medium bodied with dry caramel and sourdough upfront turning to rotting fruits and citrus peels.

Bottle at home for Sunday football. Pours hazy deep orange with puffy head. Nose is floral esters and yeast. Tastes of lots of Belgian yeast, some berry, floral, light pepper and clove, and cobwebs. Chewy mouthfeel. More of a Belgian ale to me than saison.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and snifter served showing a hazed, orangey gold color, with a modest layer of soft white foam, and light spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was tart & fruity, with pit variety & berries, light spice, and a touch of sweetness. A little less than medium bodied, with mid to soft carbonation, the esters continued in the flavor with a bit more sweetness, an alcohol presence, and an earthy, peppery, angostura-like bitterness, much like an old fashioned with berries. Rather tasty.
