This beer is made in collaboration with Micah Melton The Aviary and is a modest attempt to imitate The ‘Blueberry’ cocktail as it is served in The Porthole at The Aviary, Chicago. The Porthole is an equally genius and gorgeous infusion vessel designed by Martin Kastner of Crucial Detail design studio. It can be used to create striking cocktails or any other type of infusion - maybe even beer.

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy gold with a creamy off white head. Aroma is fruity and yeasty. Flavor is berry but not identifiably blueberry. Somewhat boozy. Drinkable but not really enjoyable. Finishes pretty sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught. This is an interesting Saison with some unusual flavors hanging back there.

Pours reddish orange with a white head. The aroma has spice, berries, saison earthiness, rich blueberries and a sweetness that isn’t in most saisons. It has a medium / light body that’s very crisp and has lots of flowing carbonation. The flavor starts out with mushy cobweb maltiness, very ripe berries, phenolic spice and light astringency. The finish adds some clove aspects. Not a lot of saison traits here and the beer tastes kind of messy.

22 oz bottle at home from the Party Source. Pours a hazy dark golden orange color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have mild to moderate blueberry character, pale bready malt, mild funk, grass, light citrus, mildly spicy in the saison kind of way, light earthy. Slap it in a can and I would drink it on the golf course.

Draft on tap at The Bridge (St Louis, MO). Pours a gentle berry tinged golden hue, gentle haziness with cakey offwhite head with a gentle blue/tan head that sticks around and laces well. Aromas are a bit of blueberry, estery fruit and gentle yeastiness. Touches of banana, gentle citrus and gentle spice. Blueberry skin, a bit estery. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, a bit fruity with gentle yeastiness, touches of spice and yeastiness. Gentle fruit but a bit more dry on the taste and backend than I expected. Some gentle darker blueberry pulp, touches of fruit, mellow yeast and a bit of dry earthiness. Some gentle grainy malt, a bit of yeastiness and dryness trail out. Not bad, a bit sweet.

Sampled from the tap at The Bridge. Pours a clear pale gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of flora and sweet fruits with a hint of sweet grain and Belgian yeast. Flavor has lots of sweet fruits with some earthy grain and light spice.

Sample on tap at Bridge in STL during RBSG. Mostly clear golden color. Thin off-white head, some ropes and ridges of lace. Mild hint of blueberry in the nose, light saison type spice. Less blueberry in the flavor, barely any.. It may as well be all in my head at this point. Moderate sweet taste, lightly spicy. Medium to bigger body, smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation, light slick texture. OK farmhouse... A bit of an unnecessary sweet bite to it. Expected more.
