He has proportionally longer arms than others, recognisable by his reddishbrown hair, among the most intelligent primates and uses a variety of really sophisticated tools. But what makes him so gifted and very sought after is his notorious ability to maintain deviously capable, deliver something unpredictable and always perform with a curious mind of a five year old.

Pours a deep oily black umber color with a finger of mocha foam... on the nose there is a distinct balance between citrus and chocolate. Smells just like that orange balls of chocolate my mom got when i was a kid. The palate is a very interesting, not your usual profile of flavors but the results are pleasant. Big roasted dark chocolate malts on the front end and fresh citrus peaks through mid palate and takes the show as the beer finish with some juicy orange and a burnt chocolate lingering finish.

Bottle, shared with BBGTC, Foffern and Gunnar. Pours a dark brown, near-black body with a small short-lasting head. Aroma is coffee, herbal orange-like soy tones, licorice, herbs and hints of dark chocolate. Taste is roasted coffee, sour-ish berry tones, grains, hints of herbs and sun-dried tomates. Very original and quite tasty. The drawback seems to be the carbonation level, which is next to nothing. Nice enough, but lacks a bit to be really, really good.

This was disgusting. Tasted like soy sauce. I really don’t get this one. Oh well,

500mL bottle, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma features predominantly roasted malt, with a bit of sweet chocolate and a hint of espresso. Flavour is a blend of roasted malt and loads of citrus notes - the citrus notes become overburdening toward the latter half of the palate, ending on orangey citric notes. I don’t think this works well at all in a stout, at least not to this degree, but decent attempt at something fairly original. Not very enjoyable.

Black in color with a tan head. Roasted malt and cocoa powder up front on the nose. Strong orange peel character, lots of coffee, and some toffee. A bit of nuts, lightly acidic, and chocolate. Tastes lightly acidic, but otherwise good. Lots of roasted malt, orange peel, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, and coffee. A bit of toasted nuts, toffee sweetness, and some licorice.

On tap at the Kansas City Flying Saucer. Pours a black color with brown head. Burnt, roasted, slightly smoky/charred flavors. I’m not a huge fan of the burnt char flavor in this one, but not bad overall.

Bottle shared with (and courtasy of) Bergen tasting crew and Gunnar. The colour is pitch black with a medium light brown head. Delicious roasted and sweet aroma of coffee, lactose, pretty dark chocolate, soy sauce and some smoke. Feels british. The flavour feels a bit sour at first then cold coffee, wood, camp fire, burned wood, black berries and nice roast in the end. The mouthfeel is slick, and has a light bitterness. A lot of aroma and taste in this, and with a nice roasted touch.
