3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark black, very thinned bodied to be a good winter warmer, was expecting this thicker, sweet finish, ok beer.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: jet black, no real head
Smell: stout. Coffee. Something else, maybe citrus? Not sure.
Taste: coffee, tartness. Not really getting any orange.
Mouthfeel: thick. Not much carbonation apparent.
Aftertaste: tart sourness. This comes over as more of a sour than a stout.
As it warms: more of the same.
This is an odd beer. Brewed with orange peel, it tastes a lot more sour than orange-y. With the right dessert pairing, this could be dynamite. On its own it is quite peculiar!

500. Pours black with a scant loose tan head. Roasty chocolate nose. Flabby, fairly flat body. Roasty chocolate mid palate, but there’s a tang at the end that shouldn’t be there. Tastes a bit buggy.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 08/30/2012. The beer pours black with a medium creamy tan head that recedes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is roasty with notes of malt, coffee and berries. Light body with flavors of coffee, oranges, chocolate and malt. The finish is roasted coffee and cocoa with a sweet aftertaste. Decent overall.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels. Pours black-brown with a slim, tan cream. Almost no aroma here, just some vaguely tangy dark malts. Light to medium sweet flavor with dark malts, faint vanilla, dark fruits. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Light smoke in the finish with bits of dark bread. Not great. Condition seems poor.
