3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 08/30/2012. The beer pours black with a medium creamy tan head that recedes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is roasty with notes of malt, coffee and berries. Light body with flavors of coffee, oranges, chocolate and malt. The finish is roasted coffee and cocoa with a sweet aftertaste. Decent overall.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at Delirium Hoppy Loft, Brussels. Pours black-brown with a slim, tan cream. Almost no aroma here, just some vaguely tangy dark malts. Light to medium sweet flavor with dark malts, faint vanilla, dark fruits. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Light smoke in the finish with bits of dark bread. Not great. Condition seems poor.

Draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Sorry but there is some serious infection going on in this one. Waiters agreed as the taste was not similar to previous days, our guess is that the the ’new keg’ went bad (unlikely) or that the good folks who own Delirium cannot invest in a keg fridge, therefore leaving good kegs to sit in a hot August furnace with the yeast effects that follow. A shame.

Dark color...thin body.
Nice roasted,coffee,choco aromas...with an easy drink-ability.
Too sweet at the end for me...and this ruins the whole thing.
Nothing I would drink again and again.

500ml bottle. Clear darkest brown with average to huge, firm, frothy to creamy, minimally lacing, tan head. Decent dark malty, minimally roasty aroma. Taste is dark malty with a minimal tart touch, a fruity note flashes up right before the finish exhibits lasting some coffee notes.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Brewdog Camden. It pours a mostly black colour with a medium brown head. Lasting foam. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted cocoa beans, vanilla and roasted malts. Taste is similar, mostly sweet with cocoa and wood notes. Quite thick in body with good carbonation. Overall, very very tasty when considering the ABV. Nice one.
